Why is there so many pop-ins in PS3 - is there many comparing to Xbox?

Go to 04:53 and see under the bridge http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dMTDGtufq7Y

When I see a pedestrian like a block away, their full detail isn't loaded. When I get a little closer their textures complete themselves, if that makes any since. Is this considered pop ins? Or is this normal? I'm on ps3. I rarely see pop ins during cutscenes. Only that first intro cutscene of Michael walking on the beach it was bad..

Do you have the disc-version of the game, and which PS3 version and how old is it and is the harddisk full?

It's disc version. I have the slim ps3 and I believe 250gb. I just bought this ps3 brand new like 4 weeks ago and I've only played mgs4 and uncharted 2 on it.

I haven't had pop ups in the game yet, I have the fat PS3 from 2009, and I have GTA V on disc.

@OP The 360 version has a lot more pop ups than the PS3 version.

I'm not very far into the story, but so far I haven't seen any pop-ins outside the occasional one while sandboxing.

Edit: Using 2nd Gen PS3 and GTA V on disc.

I looked at 4:53 and didn't see anything, just two little things quick showed up? That's hardly anything to worry about. Driving out in the country you'll see a few bushes here or there pop-in, it's inevitable with a game this size, it's just the nature of the beast. I'm on an 80GB PS3 from '08 using the disc version and have experienced only very negligible pop-ins - a far cry from IV where entire city blocks would be missing and blue (black) hell was visible for ~3 seconds before entire buildings showed up.

not sure but everyone says ps3 is much more smoother and stable

if your looking to buy either one i guess i would say get ps3, the free online n reliability of ps3 is a major plus point, pop ins dont come into the equation

All games do that, it's called LOD (Level of Detail). The closer an object gets, it loads different levels of detail. It will be exactly the same next gen.

The texture pop-in is a lot, lot better than IV. Hell in IV, textures would still be loading during cutscenes & that game didn't even have seamless cutscene to gameplay transitions.

I played since 00:18 when it came out, and only seen little pop every 5 hours maybe, it runs fine. Now shut your hating and trolling ass up, do you even have the game? I bet you you can't get it and now you're hating on the game to make yourself feel better hahahah
