Just drove down Grove Street and DAMN the hood is different. Where all the Grove Street OGs at? Carl and Sweet dead? Ceasar Vialpano dead? Where's CJs Moms house? Did they burn it down? Did CJ or Sweet die in that fire?

Is GSF a thing of the past, a part of San Andreas gang history? What up with the Time Warp?

Well the whole universe thing was created cause the big difference between LC(III) and LC(IV) cuz if you watch the TV in IV you can see Las Venturas.

I always like to think like this: San Andreas was a game, a fictional world inside the current one. So SA would have a cheaper, fictional version of '92 Grove Street and LS and a fictional gangbanging story featuring CJ and GSF and Ballas, just like we have Boyz in the Hood featuring the Bloods and the Crips, which also exist in real life. Also explains why all the brands are the same, Lazlow, etc, and the changes to the hood and the city. I don't know if this is confirmed, but it ties everything in nicely. So basically the III era would be "inside" the HD era.

It's a bit sad this, but the fact that they actually put it in the game is awesome.

Grove Street is ran by the Ballas, in case you didn't realize. Plus the map isn't based on San Andreas, therefore it's bound to look different.

GTA SA was base in 1990-1993 something like that, GTA V is based of 2011-2013 in 20 years a lot of things changes bro.

Why do people still not understand that this is a reboot/different universe.

You'd think the completely different geography would be a big ****ing clue.

I was tripping when I drove down Grove Street and it was filled with Ballas... That didn't last too long, a couple grenades later and I retook the Grove!

Grand Theft Auto V and San Andreas are irrelevant to each other.

Is it just a different universe and nothing is related to SA?

It's connected. GTA V has a hint towards Nico from Liberty City.

And GTA: SA takes place in 1998. GTA V in 2013(?). Times change.

1. Nico is a character from IV which is in the same universe as V and is called the HD universe.

2. San Andreas story takes place in 1992.

Shows how much you know. And no, this is NOT SA, this is a reboot. If you don't get that, or don't know what a reboot is then go educate yourself on the matter before you keep making a fool out of yourself.

I feel you OP, I missed the Grove Street Gang, They're almost non existent in the game... yet Lamar and Franklin rep it somewhat. Its almost as if they're the only ones repping the Grove/Green.

I get it they have their own Chaimberlain Gang Families (possibly a set from Grove street), but still its dissapointing. And those of you saying that its a reboot and its a new universe then please explain the grove street mural near lamars. And yes its still SAN ANDREAS, as the state is still SAN ANDREAS.. stop being annoying trolls.

I can live with clearing out grove street every now and then... but its still disappointing that i cant recruit green homies to go do heists n sh*t. :(

They actually sort of play at it in a mission, Lamar says something along the lines of, "You know Grove Street used to be Families hood", the gang was never Grove Street Gang, it was a set in the Families gang, there is no such thing as "Grove Street Green" it's Families Green. Also it was a whole different universe, CJ and all of them never exsisted in this universe, this universe contains the people from GTA IV, TBOGT, TLAD and GTA V, that is it so far, the old universe contained GTA VCS, GTA VC, GTA SA, GTA LCS and GTA 3, that is it.

Hi everyone

Actualy there is some references to GTA SA in GTA 5 even if they are different universes, for exemple when you go into Franklin's bedroom you can find a madd dog poster, and an OGloc LP on the floor (who are two characters of GTA SA)

I'm disapointed that there is not some references to CJ or Sweet (even a tombstone or something) maybe there is but i didn't see them

So glad you took your time to revive a thread from Sept 2013 to tell us this.

Seriously, how do you even come up with such an old thread?

There is, in one mission, you see lookalikes riding their BMXs out of the grove.

Technically, Grove Street Families is just a set of the bigger Families gang, why people think it's the name of the whole gang still confuses me. Granted the events of San Andreas kinda make them the biggest set, but that doesn't make them the namers...

Another thing, you talk down to everyone and say "Hi everyone" and "Actually" like you think we're idiots who don't know this stuff 2 years after the game came out.

It's possible you got the wrong idea about the game. It has a few gamg missions, but CJ and the San andreas characters don't appear. There's an Easter egg during a mission though.

Unless you're joking, then bravo sir.
