Got about 21% so far on the story, and as good a story it is, i just feel like i want to free-roam and jack around now until online comes about. I know that when online is released i won't return to single player, so i will just free-roam now and chill out a bit. I'm not a massive story mode fan, but i thought i'd give it a go, just want online now.

The story has opened the world up and helped me discover new places, and that was my intention going into the game.

Roll on 1st october now. :)

I venever completed more than 20% of any GTA story mode haha. But GTA 5 is different, the missions are actually fun and not repetitive at all. I may actually beat the story mode for once.

I would strongly advice continuing story as it unlocks more activities etc.

Played till 32% now.
And still going.
Its a very good story.
And its not repetive at all.
And heists have 2 ways to do it.
I actually played the first 2 heists twice and enjoyed to play both ways.(except at the second heist we're i just liked the second option)

That's like full completion, not story alone, every side quest all crap

Think of single player as training for online.. Learning how to do heists and such...
Train grasshopper and you will be a master.

Not gonna lie story mode is not for me but you should do it purely on a training basis for online

I think the story mode is to allow us to explore the map, from the city to the desert and to the mountains. I have not completed yet but I noticed one thing when doing all the missions and side missions is that it will bring me to different places and I don't need to explore them in free roam.

I beat the game.  It's worth it if you aren't someone who doesn't appreciate a good story.  It kept me on the edge of my chair until the end.

You don't really have to think of it as a training ground for online. Rockstar has already mentioned that when you start your online character you go through a sort of tutorial just like you've never played the game before.
