When I was checking out Rockstar Social Club, I found the detailed map of North Yankton during the mission.

It surprised me that the map is so detailed(with all that roads and a huge developed area).

Please note that we only played along the yellow route in the map below.

It's interesting that how R* made us turn right even before reaching the large piece of developed area at the west.

Now that's so strange... Why would a developer make a huge and detailed map and just use a bit of it?

My thought is that we may be able to enter it again in ONLINE mode for gunfights and races OR maybe there's hidden path to the map (connecting to the road at the east).

What do you think?

Interesting!

1- Maybe Online, as you said.
2- Maybe DLC? As part of a larger area of course.

Well, I'd imagine that since it's described in the strategy guide as the ice capital of America that it is in the far north, a far way from San Andreas. It would have to be a huge DLC, part of a huge area, probably it's own story.

This would be awesome if R* is really going to release huge DLCs. However, I doubt if that would happen as R* said no big DLC on maps before...

There are two missions. What do you want them to create COD corridor for them?

Maybe it'd be a map for the deathmatch playlists in GTAO.

Think about it.

It's decently sized, detailed, and seems like it would work perfectly with 2 teams shooting at each other.

So

If that's real, it's more reasonable to have such detailed map then.

Has anyone tried not to take this road of the mission, but to go offroad and visit these other parts of North Yankton?

Yeah, I followed the mapping thread pretty closely all year but I have no idea what you're talking about. Don't be a dick and just let us know

Its not that detailed. Its just lines. No buildings, landmarks, road names, points of interest or anything else.

But it probably will be available later in the game or dlc

Just because there's a map of land we didn't see doesn't mean its been created. And seeing it off in the distance in-game also doesn't mean it's fully created like the rest of Los Santos and Blaine County.

Yeah I believe that North Yankton should be a DLC to access freely. We only saw it two times in the beginning and in that one mission called "bury the hatchet". So yeah it should be a DLC along with some new areas.

Its probably going to be a new location in GTA Online in the future. As its in the mid west, it could be part of the country side, and they may have a Chicago based city.

They are probably gonna add other stuff too, like Liberty City from IV, or new houses/interiors to LS and Blane County.

Sorry, GTA V is not being released on the PC. My source is just as reliable as the sh*t you just made up.

I haven't played the second mission set in North Yankton yet. Without spoilers, is it a flashback mission or is it set in present time & does it show you more of the map?

@Fizzlepop531

It's looking more & more like you're wrong.

Present time.

I actually didn't look at the actual map while on the mission.

It is near the end of the story missions though. I assume it is just a different section of the map shown in this thread, but I can't be sure as I did not look.
