I'm starting to think these are the actual sh*tty graphics... I've been looking at heaps of screen shots of people uploading on reedit/YouTube and soooo many people have jabbered lines and stuff on their screen.

No offense intended dude, but you should really take any pre-release footage with a grain of salt. Devs (more likely publishers) have been fudging footage for as long as I can remember, and tbh I don't see any real way to stop it from happening, other than gamers speaking with their wallets, which many seem reluctant to do.

Looking at the first pic in your previous post, that level of graphics degradation is generally typical of an overheated GPU on PC, so that might of been the cause there.

The jaggies are completely normal. That's just the way the game looks. Anyone saying differently are either playing on a small TV or simply not noticing :)

The bad texture loading and excessive pop-ins are however valid issues, and will hopefully be patched.

Regarding Franklins screenshots I'm also leaning towards hardware issues.

Really?

I guess I'll have to sit further away from my TV, wish I had a smaller TV as it would be less noticable.

With the top image I can agree but I have tried on 2 other xboxes and I still get quality like the bottom image.

Maybe you guys are too close to the screen, my picture looks crisp and very nice but as soon as I get within 1-2FT from the TV then I start seeing these jagged lines.

What I think is happening is that the PS3 upscales badly, worse than 360 which has a dedicated scaler. Your 1080p TV if you have one might upscale the 720p image better than your PS3 unfortunately. You're seeing lots of upscaling artifacts. As for jaggies alone, Anti-Aliasing is pretty minimal owing to the hardware. You have to deal with that.

I really don't know what the hell is going on with Franklin Clinton's console though...a few others look like a worse problem here too, no idea.

A couple more examples of the problems that a lot of people are having. Vary hard to capture it with a picture but the grain effect is there.

Thanks for posting up pics man. I remember looking forward to GTA 5 thinking things would be nice and crisp in the distance. The first thing I noticed was how sh*t it looked in the distance. Especially when driving things just look like utter sh*t from a distance.

I'm still having alot of fun though and I like the driving better than IV. I hope there is a fix via patch and the game would be perfect imo.

Wow damn franklin, my game doesnt look half as bad as that, jeez there's deffo something wrong with either your console or your cd, you should get that checked seriously. My game looks 10 times better then that. Might sound silly but are you 100% sure your games set to 720p? when i first started playing i had all options ticked and since game doesnt do 1080p/i, it set it to 460p which was sorta like what urs looks like now :/

i sit a fair distance away from my tv and xbox, so the jaggies are less noticeable with sharpness at zero. I think this game looks great, especially at night driving down the paleto freeway or around blaine county. with my tv set to "cool" colour tone it looks incredible

Hi guys.

I'm playing the game on a 360 slim via hdmi on a 32" LED LG from last year and I also have those problems.I tried playing in a 32" Sony Bravia and it was the same and I even tried differente hdmi cables and had the same results.

I think we just have to accept that this is what the game looks like. This is anciente Hardware we´re talking about, some compromises had to be made to make a game like this run on these consoles.

Like others I have lots of jaggies, pixelated shadows and grainy effects during day time.On the desert the grainny effect is especially prevalent on the sand. But during nightime the game looks fanatastic.

I even saw videos on youtube of people doing the same missions and if you pay attention they have the same problems. It's just not easy to see sometimes because the image is smaller.I honestly think that people that say the don´t have any problems just don´t care about these kind of issues and are just enjoying the game.If you look at videos from Digital Foundry you can clearly see that those same issues are there.

It's just the way the game is.Just try to enjoy this masterpiece guys.

Reduce your ingame brightness and they will dissapear, it only needs to be 1/4 bar full for it still to look quite bright

i created a ticket at rockstar support not for the jaggies but for the low res textures und blurry ground textures stuff.

i got a long answer from the support team.

posting now the only interesting part:

2.) Clear the Game Cache.
Clearing the Game Cache on the Xbox 360 is a separate function from clearing the System Cache. In order to do so, you must hold the LEFT Bumper, RIGHT Bumper, and the X button all at the same time on the Xbox 360 controller as a game is launching. Once you reach the Main Menu or Title Screen of the game, you can let go of the buttons. There will be no notification to you that this process has completed because it is all done passively.
Clearing the Game Cache resolves many problems in games that rely heavily on the Xbox 360's cached memory. Some of these problems include, but are not limited to NPC issues, random textures, and "hitching", "lagging", or "slow gameplay".

Here are some of my pics ,no settings changed for tv ,native 720p res on Xbox console settings. 32" inch tv ,only some really minor jaggies here and there. Only first disk installed ,I had dvd2 installed on usb stick but had minor pop ups ,maybe because it was old over used usb stick, since that I'm running it from play dvd.

Besides jaggy textures i have the same problem as Karma2burn. I tried lowering brightness and it only kinda works when i put it to zero, but then i cant see sh*t. And btw i tried "Clearing the game cache" and it did nothing. I play it on xbox and on Asus VS278QP 27in gaming monitor. Im seriously going insane with the game. I want to play it but it just hurts my eyes after some time. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'm going insane aswell. I've been so f*cking hyped out for this game, and when I get it, it's all jaggy and sh*t.

Thanks rockstar.
