It took 10 minutes in San Andreas if you were blind with down syndrome and walking slowly.

It's your fault for rushing it. Did you go up the mountains, or did you take the freeway?

Stop trying so damn hard. Even in maps like Skyrim, if you took a fast ass car around the map, I'm sure it would look small.

The map is big enough, sit down.

Its true, probably even gta iv's map is bigger.

f*ck the ocean floors seriously no cares about that. Rockstar took some balls decisions with this game.

Seriously they should have remade the whole san andreas not just los santos (which imo is very boring).

I could tell when the map got leaked that it wasn't as big as GTA IV, SA and RDR combined. But the map is big enough, IMO.

And then you would be in here complaining and crying that the cities were to small because rockstar would have had to cut the city sizes in half to include them all on the map.

the map is big, but is far from what they said (bigger than San Andreas, RDR and GTA IV maps all together).

I'd say that the map is almost three times bigger than IV's Liberty City.

I'm quite certain IV's map was the same size as San Andreas', so that would cover SA, IV, and most of RDR's map.

Compare the driving speeds of San Andreas and GTA V and you'll quickly come to the realization that you only remember the SA map to be HUGE, even tho in reality it's not even that big. The super sh*tty (old tech) drawing distance was a good tool to mask the relative scarceness of the map.

Not hating on SA tho, it's a superb game. Just sayin that memories and reality are not always in line.

i could do without the oceon floor, another city would be welcome, the citys are my fav places, this game is like so beutifully handcrafted though, ive got nothing but love for rockstar to actualy care so much they hand placed literly everything in this game for us, rather than copy and paste skyrim style, id love if rockstar and bethesda could get together, and bioware hahaha

Did you really mean 10 minutes? sh*t, your hardware must be damn f*cking slow for you to take 10 minutes to go from LSX to Prickle Pine.

I could go to all four corners of SA in ten minutes, what are you talking about...

The map is fine. Sure, it isn't "seven times the size of every Rockstar game ever made combined," but it's still large enough.

They may have exaggerated before release, but I'm still happy with the final product.

Map is as big as advertised if you take everything into account. Ocean floors included, for good or ill.

The overall map isn't quite as big as imagined, and you can get round it quite quickly. But it is still massive, and AMAZING.

I am also slightly annoyed at the size of Los Santos itself. You can get from venice beach to the Hollywood hills in the blink of an eye. It doesn't quite feel like LA, like IV's Liberty City felt like New York. (but I suppose this was to be expected when they were combining city and countryside).

I'm not being a whingey bitch, just an observation. Absolutely love the game so far.

I don't think many of you actually remember SA too well.  Sure if you had a Hydra you could get across the map in no time and cause tons of pop in, but just driving down the highways did take a while.
