After playing a few hours of GTA 5, I have to say that I'm very disappointed. Personally, I think Saints Row 3 set the benchmark for the most fun driving/shooting open-world game. I think Rockstar has consistently missed the mark by trying to make the GTA series more realistic. But who wants to drive cars that spin out of control all the time? And it's no fun running from the cops when missing a jump means suffering a 5 second long animation to get back on your feet. I'm sure a good argument can be made for realism, but I think some of these steps toward realism are also steps toward tedium.

What do all of you have the most fun playing: GTA or Saints Row?

I'm a fan of both series, but I do prefer Saints Row by far.

Isn't it obvious. SR fell off, it has become a joke compared to the first two games(IMO) if jumping 5000 ft up in the air and shooting people to make them turn into ostriches is fun,

Then either I have no sense of humour or only people with simple minds enjoy this.(Not everyone).

It really depends if you like realism or not.

GTA as a series for me.

I do agree with you there. I didn't like how over the top SR4 was, but (for me) the basic mechanics were still more fun and solid than GTA 5.

I don't know if he is trolling....I know if I placed GTA 4 and SR3 against each other, i honestly thing I had more fun in SR3 single player than in GTA 4 single player. SR3 just felt so smooth and although the story wasn't that great or long, it kept me interested enough to beat it in like 2 days. I don't know about SR4 and GTA 5 as I haven't played GTA5 yet, but SR4 was really smooth and easy to just pick up and play.

What's with people calling him a troll just because he likes a game better than yours? Seriously I know this is GTAforums but come on..

Anyway there's a few issues with V but I can't say that Saints Row IV is better than GTA V, but Saints Row 3 is kinda up there but not ahead

Pretty obvious everyone is going to vote for GTA.

The only SR everyone seems to dislike seems to be SR3.

I really liked Saints Row 4 because it doesn't takes itself so serious, but after you're done with the game you can see how empty the game actually is. It's a great pre-snack before GTA5 though.

I don't understand why people sign up to GTAForums if they constantly moan about the series. Gosh, society is f*cked.

I liked Saints Row 2 more than GTA IV. GTA IV was basically rubbish and a joke.

But now I prefer GTA V over all of them.

Wow! GTA's winning by a land slide. Real shocker right there.

Anyway yeah I like GTA more, I've stood by it long before SR entered the scene. Right now GTA V has taken control of my life and I'm happy to have it. GTA suits my play style perfectly, it's like an action movie where as... well I'm really not sure what SR is, but it's not my thing. Seriously, that series went weird.

Saints Row 1 and 2 weren't bad, just terribly unoriginal. Volition weren't planning to make groundbreaking game, but earn some cash by taking it from GTA fans' hands. It worked for them, but then they decided to go in totally ridiculous direction leaving everything they made behind. IV isn't bad, leaning on references and jokes, but it's still behind GTA. Truth is that was made as a mediocre title and it will stay as one, so it's definitely GTA for me.

Truth is we don't need topics like this. This isn't first and definitely not last one covering that comparison, but since we're on GTAForums the results and answers are clear from the beginning.

Let's be honest. When it came to single player, I thought SR2 single player gameplay was better than GTA IV. A lot of people liked the first 2 games because they were over the top, but were still believable. SR3 and 3.5 tried too hard.
