Well I thought that the 720p anti-aliasing issues might be improved after GTA IV's flicker-fest, but alas, GTAV is plagued by the same problem. It's a real shame as it really takes away from the gameplay.

I also found that in the opening cinematic showing Michael walking along the beach, the game assets would load slowly, meaning you had people walking in the air etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to lessen the flickering?

My TV is 1080p HD and I realise GTAV is 720p.

Your TV isn't to blame. What console do you have? PS3/360? Old/New? Free disc space?

PS3, bought it in 2008... enough free space, but would more free space improve it?

The revision and age of your console wont matter... This old 2005/2006 Hardware is at its Limit. We have to deal with that aliasing.

This game is huge...I used to play Dcuo which is also an mmo and it required a lot of processing power to render all the buildings and NPS, cars etc. If you play a lot with your ps3 , leaving it on for many hours, it wears out over time. A new one would probably fix your problem if you're willing to invest or you may be able to upgrade the processor but I'm not sure if that's doable.

I dealt with it over my tv settings. Looks really nice now and smooth. When i started it the first time i was disapointed too.

I'm pretty happy with the game, but the 360 AA is horrible, jaggies and shimmering galore. I can get past it though. I just thought with all the gameplay trailers and whatnot, it would at least look a little better AA wise. Oh well, current gen tech for you.

Well GTA V pushed our consoles to the limit, that's for sure!

I only notice heavy aliasing during mid-daytime, during all other times you can barely notice it anymore. Also it's much better in the countryside, To be honest though, I expected aliasing (obviously), and after some time it's not as noticeable anymore.

Asset streaming is down to the Hard Drive, GTAV is one of the few games that REALLY makes use of a faster Hard Drive, most pop-in is eliminated on a 7200rpm Drive, and if you use an SSD, loading and character switching is near instant.
