It's been officially released in the UK? I'm so happy for you all.

It was a challenge to be 12 minutes to drive around the map. Not exactly a real research.

It depends on your route, car and the way you drive.

Obviously yes but you can still get an overall picture of the map size.

It takes A LOT shorter time than that. The guy in the video tried to extend it as much as possible.

Hate it, I'm used to American English.

How long does it take to drive along the coastline?

This.

There was a another video where a guy did a full circuit around the island in less than 10 minutes, but he was going flat out and using Franklin's special ability.

It was never going to be as big as R* made it out to be. But it's still a big map. If you could drive that way in real life in a fast car you would easily be across a full city in 10 mins.

It is an extremely diverse map, a big map, but not a staggeringly huge map.

Not to spark the debate up in this thread, but here's another video of a car that looks like it handles amazingly because Franklin isn't driving.

Franklin is my favorite character but it seems true that it's because of him that cars look like they're hot wheels.. I guess I have to avoid him when I feel like just driving around the map.. Sucks.

This is why I dislike RPG mechanics in games, but whatever. Michael and Trevor are cool too.

Jesus......

It still looked like it took forever to get there, judging by both your video and CVG's. This map is HUGE. :D

Where's the video?

Oh I worded that weird, I meant the video in the OP.

The car has proper suspension, body roll, drifts nicely, bank corners realistically, and looks like it will lose control if you try to handbrake into a turn going 100mph. It looks fantastic IMO.

Certainly finally squashed my worries about the driving once and for all. It's not the driving, it's f*cking Franklin. Though the damage model is for a fact reduced, and even without Franklin driving motorcycles still have less suspension in general, but I'll live.

12 minutes to get from southern to northern. wait no, you cant follow the path, have to go straight north. wait no, you have to run into the sea. no wait, you have to dive underwater and explore. no wait, you have to get to that island. no wait, you have to take a selfie picture with the moon in the back.

these guys are retarded. to get from south to north following the gps path would probably take around 5-6 minutes max

A full city? Flat out we already seen him drive across a full city in a few minutes.
I can drive halfway across across Scotland in an hour driving like that.

The map is nearly 50 square miles regardless of how long and fast it is driven over

In the CVG Verdict video, they said it takes 28 minutes on bike from Vespucci Beach to the top of Mount Chiliad

^ This. At least the highways in the game are more realistic (looks, 6 - 8 lanes in the city, 4 outside of urban areas, traffic, etc.).

In reality, you could easily pass LA and head deep into its surrounding areas within a four minute span while on a freeway(minimal traffic).

Now taking a route through the heart of the map is a different story.

Map should be just fine.
