assaulting gang hideouts

Casino (?)

there seems to be alot for GTAO which isnt in SP. which is a huge letdown...

they should mainly go for SP and not MP...

The downfall of gaming is when stupid ass developers pay more attention to online than single player. Sadly that is already happening and Rockstar, some of you buffoons treat like gods, are becoming like that. :/

I wonder if I try and wait a few weeks for this game to drop price will Gamestop let me keep my $22 of credit I got from the 30% bonus of pre ordering this game...

The cracks are already starting to show in the haul. I'm now not going to pay fully off my pre-order just yet. Going to sit back and wait, watching all those online with in-game vid clips and make my analysis from there but it's not looking good.

As soon as there's enough game play clips of people explaining how it seems single player is bland compared to the options in Multiplayer. That's enough for me to say man the life boats an cancel the pre-order.

Gamers, for the most part are honest. Whiny, bitchy, petty, picky, ungrateful, tantrum chucking brats but honest. They'll say what they think even if it's petty and uncalled for. So I'd rather sift through the mountain of rage threads and find that bit of truth then ever sit an get shoveled everything a developer tells me.

So like I said, will sit back an watch in-game clips (not on game mechanics) talking about is it as bland as they say it is, has R* sacrifice SP for MP. My intuition says Yes they have but I don't have to buy the game to find out for myself, that's why I'll watch others play when the full release date happens.

I wonder if I try and wait a few weeks for this game to drop price will Gamestop let me keep my $22 of credit I got from the 30% bonus of pre ordering this game...

Ask them, they should be able to.

oh god, 19 hours to release... and things not going well, single player seems dull, if they focus in ONLINE, it will be the end of GTA we all loved. i never played any GTA for ONLINE.

lets hope they will add some stuff to single player mode, lets hope they never forget us.

That's what I'm saying. If rockstar focusssed on mostly single player. Gamers will still by the game.

They should make up a straight up choice. is gta a single player game or a multiplayer game. I garantee if they start taking stuff out from single player and keeping it for multiplayer, things will go downhill for that dumb choice.

Yeah, I know. What kind of stupid game company focuses more on multiplayer and actually succeeds? You'd think COD hasn't made a dime, right? Clowns.

Best thing i can tell people.

You don't have to put your hand in the fire to know you'll get burned. Sit back and watch proper in-game clips of people who are playing after release date before purchase, that/if Rockstar are just focusing primarily on Multi-player as stated in this thread. Love to tell people "Go ahead! Jump in the waters warm" but that wouldn't help anyone if I only told them what they wanted to hear.

My gut feeling is R* ain't focusing primarily on SP anymore. Be informed.

You always make more money appealing to the lowest common denominator... in the short term. Look at the film industry. Big blockbusters are usually sure bet money makers but in the long term people get sick of them and move on. Why do you think that tickets sales for films have been declining over the past several years? Look at this past summer and many blockbusters bombed. The same goes for the gaming industry, it's losing money. Video game sales are on the decline. One reason is: thinking about short term profit. You can make money in the short term with a sub-standard product but it will hurt you in the long term when there is no innovation.

Going to throw in a theory here. What if R* is delaying the Online closer to Next Gen release, that way when everything is out. R* can just turn around say "Oh look! GTA V is available on Next Gen via the cloud! come get it....but pay full price"

Then everyone will be like WOW! Next Gen omg! Faster Inter-webs, better gaming! AMAZING! Just like we are played for suckers. Keeping an eye on R* I'm a Fan but not a Fool.

EDIT: f*ck me! Going to add this to, there's speculation of DLC. DLC as a primary whole is give a little of a game, make people pay for the rest. So what if Rockstar are making GTA V single player as a 'taste test' then primarily their 'main game' online. So that way it caters for screaming kiddies who'll purchase anything an lap up DLC.

GTA V could very well be just a form of Micro-transaction on a grand scale.

I honestly think when PS4's cloud based BC is released GTA Online will get some neat updates.. Really what is Rockstar planning?! To release GTA 5 on current gen so close to next they must have a plan that involves screwing over all of us who will buy it on current gen.

is it really that big of a deal if you have to buy two copies of a great game, im sure you have wasted money on sh*t games before, idk maybe its just me, if they really wanted to f*ck us they would make us pay for online like most MMO's do.

We already do pay for online in a sense. Look at how the internet companies are trying to limit or usuage and charge us more money. Playing online runs up the internet usuage by a lot

The shift to focus to online has been coming for awhle now, and it what really showed that its pretty much here is when EA made Sim City an online only, mulit player game,  since when the hell did Sim City become a mulitplayer game?  I am not trying to be a dick, but we have only our sleves to blame(gamers),  we embrassed online gaming, we weclomed it, so now, they have us,and now the game devlopers can do what they want with SP games, becuase they want everyone to play online, where they have control over everything,  its all about control and money.

I'm hoping not. Like I said in another thread. R* to me was the last bastion for me for quality single player gaming. Bioware completely sold out with pointlessly adding MP to their game and I remember posters on their forum forcefully reassuring doubter like me that it wouldn't affect SP. (prior to release) I didn't buy it and I was right. If SP in any way is dumbed down, streamlined or any other fancy euphemism that really means we gave up on SP, then I'm done with video games. My 25 year old hobby is done.

I agree with you. If you noticed in the trailers you see a lot of these. Look up "all seeing eye" These game companies are a bunch of sell outs

I dont have anything against online, but that stuff cleary is only missing in SP to force players to play GTAO.

We should wait and see what happens when people without internet on their console or people who dont like online gaming, react to that. There are a lot of those on GTA cause it every since was a Single Player game..

With GTA6 I could imagine that they go for online only or even make it a F2P crap.
The Elder Scrolls Online seems to have started that crap.

Very true. However since I haven't been online in about 4 years I honestly haven't contributed to online gaming. The concept in the past was a novel idea that spiraled out of control. But I do think there has been a backlash to some degree. (for their heavy handedness) The gaming industry is still hurting and they really can't blame the recession or the BS scapegoat that is piracy. It's their own actions.

rockstar games would be commiting suicide for there company if they focused more on online rather than single player. If they want to be successful they better do it this way.

98% content in single player.

2% content in multiplayer

I'm serious. They got there successfulness from being single player games.

This is a new age, all people want is to go online and shoot each other. It's unfortunate but it's true. And it seems this is the game where Rockstar starts shifting the tide and focusing more on online too. That's where more money can be gained and they know it.

So let's just hope we get some good SP in the future, though it doesn't look bright.

Remember that the profit they get is short term profit. Long term reliance on MP isn't really a money maker since appealing to the Lowest common denominator audience is a bad long term investment.

It is to late, not for the gamer but for the developer, the corporate gaming greed using people as cash cows is coming to an end. That's why TheShogunOfHarlem is sensing an outbreak. Cause it is going to happen. People may have made mistakes but it is there fault? Not necessarily, people are human beings an in the end they just want to be cared about. Come along a developer act like they care, human nature laches on presto instant cash cow.

People have woken up realized they don't have to take crap from a developer. Just look at Microsoft and how well that went down. Corporations are not in control, players pockets are. Let me give you an example.

The Grasshopper in this clip represents Corporations, the Seeds (puny ants) he's referring to represent Gamers.

an example of Gamers standing 'up to us' is Microsoft and Xboned. Need I say more? All corporations really have is 'corrosion' and sugar coating.

Like this.

3lw2OE6.jpg

In the end, you as a player and as a person have the power. It comes from your pocket, it comes from your decisions, it comes from your free will and that's' what they want. Corporate greed is about money from money stems power from power the wanting of control

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

If this turns out to be true it will be the last time I buy a RockStar game. Have been following since GTA 1 but when a developer starts to cater to screaming kids *cough* Bethesda Fallout *cough* it destroys a franchise.

What?

Are you serious? Did you quit watching movies when DVD's took over VCR's? Did you complain because some people are getting let out?

Online is the next step foward in gaming, why is there such an issue with that? It's something to be proud of.
