That bothers me.

Single player will be in the background now.

Who knows, we might not even see single player GTA VI ever, instead it will be MMO only.

They could be updating GTA Online forever instead of making a brand new GTA single player game.

Business is business. Today everything is about multiplayer.

As long as GTA O is as big as they claim it will be, I'm happy, but R* won't stop making SP games, I can assure you.

Well no sh*t sort of. That's why they said GTAO was it's own separate thing, and why it's not GTAVO

Hmm OP does kinda have a point, everything is swaying towards online, especially the triple A titles. I don't think V will be the last single player GTA but after VI who knows where the world will be at?

It was confirmed in a CVG interview with Rockstar's Lezlie Benzies that they will continue to make Grand Theft Auto games.

R* will still make a GTA VI, GTAO will move into Next-Gen as a standalone though.

They definitely are looking forward to make GTA Online as big as Single player experience. Not at the expense of SP/story and SP freeroam, but a separate GTA entity.

I dont believe Rockstar will abandon single player and their satire. Atleast not until Houser brothers are dead and they become clueless.

If we look at the way technology is advancing, I think it's inevitable. Faster connections & faster hardware allow huge persistent worlds, and persistent worlds enable a functioning virtual marketplace, which in turn lines developers' pockets.

As it stands, their main income is copy sales & dlc. Imagine the money to be made in a world where virtual markets and advertising can exist.

Don't be so stupid. That wont happen and you yourself know that. "Business is business." And you know nothing about it. Single player sells. They wont drop it.

Just because good internet exists doesn't mean you can have it. This is a problem for me and many others. I'll be mad if 1 month from now all I see is GTA: Online news, updates, and other stuff. It'll be awhile before DSL comes to rural areas so I'll be playing SP long after 10/1. Anyways, how come when I made a topic like this everyone got their panties in a knot?
