I don't understand. Are they REALLY banning consoles that have been playing the game early? Not even leaking? Does anyone have proof of anyone getting banned besides the JSticks guy? Because he was leaking videos/pictures. My only concern to those who do have the game early.. what if they play offline.. get some achievements.. and sign online.. will they be banned too?

yes because the achievements show when you unlocked them so say it's the 18 of septmber and you go online (but you already unlocked 1 achievement on the 15 of september and IF you leaked pics or videos of the game you may have a HIGH chance of getting console banned

Enough already. Tens of thousands got theres today legally. A few dozen got it earlier due to the fact they were sent early for Professional review. A few dozen more were sent a copy early because they were apart of the game (Voice actor, music, etc). It is Safe and Legal to play a game before release date.

They frown upon people leaking gameplay/screenshots before release date. If you stream/post videos or screenshots before release date and they can determine who you are, they very well might ban your console. No need to fear playing a game early.

Agree with Pizentu. Nobody is gettin banned for playing a game.

Interesting question though:

Say it was a garuntee that they would ban you. You have a fresh unopened opt of GTA V.

Would you be able to resist?

If people were really smart once they got their GTA V, they would disconnect from Xbox Live and/or wifi. Eliminates most chances of Microsoft banning your console. But no, apparently staying online is the new trend. Such people desrve to get IP banned. If you can't respect Rockstar's release date you need to be banned from Xbox. You need to be doubly banned if you aren't even smart enough to disconnect your Xbox from internet when you get a game early.

Anyone with achievements unlocked before the release date of September 17, 2013 will be banned from GTA: Online come October 1, 2013. Your console will not be banned from playing single player but you will not gain access to Multiplayer functionality.

Those with Xbox 360 Gamertags and PSN IDs linked to their Social Club accounts who accessed GTA 5, ooooh you're fxcked. Its been confirmed

If you have GTA V early and you will play it on the 360, MS will attempt ban you from Xbox live (this has happened before for people getting other games early). My advice, play offline.

If you get GTA V early and you play on the PS3, Sony will not ban you (Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed this).

No need to worry if you're playing gta V early on the PS3.

If you get the game early, disconnect your console from the internet. Play it and keep your mouth shut.

Otherwise, you're asking for it, and you will find no pity here.

Ok, stop it.

Stop making people paranoid.

Stop saying bullsh*t.

Micro$oft will NEVER say that they won't ban anyone who got the game early because they know Rockstar is watching, so they'll always recommend you to wait until the official release.

Now, out of all the people who played the game early and got banned (only saw proof from ONE, and that's the Vine dude), 100 % of them stated that their Xbox was modded somehow. I don't care about the kind of modding, they named a lot.

Nor R* nor M$ will ban you or your console for getting a legitimate game early. Now, I'm talking about 1-2 days early. People that refer to Halo 4 seem to forgot that a month before release a copy of the game "leaked" on the internet and a huge f*cking banhammer went down on a LOT of idiots that couldn't wait a few weeks. That was M$ strategy and it worked fairly well... This time around, the game leaked I believe on a Thursday, so I'm guessing the "banning" (I still have to see some proof from people without modded Xboxes) was active from Thrusday to Saturday.

I don't think anyone will be banned today and I certainly doubt that anyone will be banned tomorrow, when is expected that a LOT of people get the game early.

And no, you won't be banned from GTA Online come October 1st. That's the biggest load of crap I read today.

If you get the game tomorrow, play it. NOTHING will happen.
