I completely agree OP. To race in 4 you needed to understand physics, body roll, suspension, speed, apex's, traction, braking etc...

To race in V you need to know the 'go' button.

I'll be putting IV on as will many others that don't want to play with the Saints Row style handling and physics.

I've had so much fun playing IV online these past 5 years that it's hard to hear how dumbed down V's physics and driving mechanics have become.  I just don't understand why R* would do this. When I get the game on Tuesday and find out that the physics are less complex you better believe I will continue to fire up IV for my online multiplay fix.

XD, it's been a while since I've seen a funny GIF but this one really made me laugh out loud.

I knew before I even clicked that this was another thread complaining about the driving.

Another person whining about the driving physics. Just be quiet man, it's getting boring now.

What else is new?

" I just don't understand why R* would do this. " Um, most people hated it, and rightly so. IV was all around bad. I don't understand this obsession with trying to make everything realistic.

watching it in online on twitch I have to say it does seem excessive just how much cars are allowed to scale up cliffs and fly through the terrain without taking damage or stopping.

On the one hand it makes things fun for some, on the other hand it could kill immersion for others since a skilled driver might stand a good chance of getting away from attackers if there was any real consequence to driving like a maniac, but from what I have seen, there is no consequence... it's possible to drive through just about anything at full speed and the car will just run forever.

I'd rather have auto aim off with a tweaked physics to make driving off road more difficult and crashing do more damage. Not tweaked so bad you can't go off road at all, just tweaked so the terrain isn't so easy to fly through undamaged as if it was all made of concrete.

I've seen cars with tires completely bent inward beneath the car still driving fairly normally.. shot out tires and misaligned tires need to cause more issues than they do as well, to make a person leave their car to find another one.

It's the best GTA IMO. But in some aspects, it still hasn't topped SA, it's close if anything.

I agree OP. Don't let the fanboys get you down. They'll see the truth eventually. It's just ridiculous to defend V. The second I saw the dumbed-down vehicke damage, I knew what R* had done. A little over 2 years development to make the shareholders happy. V is was made for shareholders, not fans.

Many of the girls here dont like people saying negative stuff, they are like justin beiber fans. I find driving to be a bit too easy making it less fun. Apart from that everything else is cool.

There are boats in GTAV, maybe not barges but at least you got the best of both worlds. lol COMPLEX

GTA:IV didn't have complex physics, just the illusion, and for the average player made it painful. In GTA:IV I'd just use taxis between missions, never do that now. The new system is not worse, it's just tuned differently. I support it, if the physics are going to be bleh, I might as well have fun going fast.
