Oh shut up with the "he's too young", I started playing GTA at the age of 10 (and other violent/f*cked up games) here I am at 23 with a degree, a career, nice car, girlfriend and soon a house! H

I remember playing mortal kombat and other over the top violent games when I was 8-10.

Seriously,

who gives their 11 year old child a game that evolves around voilence, sex, drugs, alcohol, nudity and other stuff that children should be un-aware of until a certain age or set of maturity? I do not know this kid, he could be the next Einstein for all I know, but I know for a fact that games like GTA is not suitable for children. This has been scientifically proven and the M-rating is there for a reason. I'm not saying everyone under the age of 18 should not play the game or games like GTA, I'm saying parents should be aware and cautious of what their kids are doing.

Research can be found about video voilence and young adults, the result of which in some cases leads to awfull consequences, especially in countries as United States of America with their gun policies. Keep kids away from this stuff until they are ready for it.

that has not been proven.

if a person is f*cked in the head it doesent matter if he plays Barbie Playhouse or GTA V

And never once in school did you "play" Mortal Kombat / other "f*cked up games" with your friends? Hitting, kicing "for fun", which later resulted in someones getting hurt? I don't think it's suitable for a 11 year old kid to play a game that introduces him to drugs. The game is based around reality and some people have problem with defining what is real and what is a game. Especially children.

But then again, I don't think these kind of games suits people who has some psychic instability. So much sh*t in this world. It's sad to read the news about children murdering children.

I'm guessing he is one of those people that keep bitching about the "arcade" feeling to the game?

To the contrary.

I agree, if someone is "f*cked up" in the head it doesn't matter. But voilence (violence?) triggers voilence more then Barbies Playhouse triggers voilence.

Well, I agree with you. Still it's up to the parents. It's exactly the same thing when it comes to kids watching violent movies. I think that children who are mentally healthy, have a good relationship with their parents, and does not show addictive signs to videogames can play them. Violent videogames can indeed be a direct trigger for violent behaviour but people who commit these acts are anti-social from the start. Truth is, parents who give their kids the Bible or the Quran may also talk to their kids about it's hatefull fantasy content.

You seem to be combining my post with the guy who quoted me.

But no, I was the nerdy kid at school, and struggled with social skills because of bullies until I grew up and went to uni, where you realize none of that sh*t matters.

I have experimented with drugs and smoked alot of pot while I was in university, however I still got good grades and while I don't deny there was an addictive element to getting high all the time, it wasn't hard to clean up as soon as my career required so. So in my eyes it was never a problem, and made me more of a relaxed/creative/intelligent person in general.

EDIT: And find me one story of a kid with a normal upbringing and no psychological problems (which I would agree is a reason for a person not to play a game like this regardless of age) who has committed a crime solely because of GTA

Great parenting right there.... He looks like many of other fans from GTAF, especially new ones.

Lol. Looking round at all these threads, I'm starting to think that may just so be the case.

I'll admit I teared up when I got a Wii for my 10th birthday but this...

What the f*ck.

I'm 17 now and still don't have an ID (thanks to my wonderful parents) and am slightly worried my Christian mom might hesitate if she finds out what is in the game (nudity especially), dont even get me started on when I was 11.

- Side note, at least he's on ps3, I play Xbox so there is 0 chance I'll run into him on GTA Online, which in turn means I will never get to shoot him in the face... Dammit.

Oh well, 2 days and a few hours gentlemen!

Your 17 and you're worried about what? Mommy taking the game away from you? Lol. 17 is the age for buying M games, you know that right?

That's what I mean, like I said I don't have an ID yet, nor can I drive so unfortunately she still has to get the game for me. With her being a Christian she might say no if she finds out what it has in it, meanwhile I've never been in a fight, done drugs, etc...

Supposedly her excuse is that our house is "blessed by god so that's why she doesn't want bad things in it". My response to that is Kifflom! Haha

to be fair, i was given gta 3 from my dad who was a huge fan gta london and gta 2. from there he has bought me each game (apart from vice city, christmas from my nan) and i turned out fine, as many of my friends did. there is a fine line between good parenting and bad parenting. i was a good boy, did the dishes, hoovered the house and did my homework, it was my present. if i was a bit touched and a bad f*cking child. they would never have let me play it... however there is many different opinions and i am not trying to cause an argument just get my views out there :)

Flame me all you want, and go on saying ''its 18 omg u gon see bubs''. I'm 11, my dads will buy this for me in October 12, and no, they're not horrible parents, they just have educated me well enough for me to know the deference in between reality and a god darn game. Seriously, don't call people sh*tty parents only for that.

Actually it appears the majority are people that know how to drive irl. That's a fact not an opinion, just look at the threads, everyone complaining knows what they're talking about when it comes to driving.

I have been playing GTA since I was 8-9 years old. In all honesty, who gives a f*ck? If he enjoys the game then that's what counts. Some of you were 11 at one time and played GTA. Don't be a hypocrite.
