Does anybody also know if there is an option in the settings to stop the bad language cause otherwise I'm gonna have to wait until my kids are in bed before I can play.

Yes dere is. You go in settins and chose "Safe Werd". All bad words will not be replaced wit a James Gandolfini breathing sound.

Yes headphones are an option but when you've got 5.1, I think I'll just have to wait for them to go to bed lol

Thats nothing, you have violence, nudity, full blown sex, etc. Shocked it didn't get an AO rating.

This is sad. You might as well not be playing GTA at all.

You can turn off the sound if you want, that way your kids will be able to see you kill people, f*ck prostitutes, steal things and do drugs without having to fear they may heard some bad words =)

Lol give the guy a break it's an honest question and he's just trying to protect his kids - just cause they'd hear it doesn't mean they'd see the screen.

If they will see the screen OP, you may as well put some porn on mute for the same result :D

I hear ya, OP.

These asshats around here become moralizing hypocrites when someone asks a legit question about profanity.

As if one would be any less careful about kids seeing sex and drugs.

And as far as violence goes: my kids aren't going to go out and emulate cartoon violence in a video game, The likelihood that they might start viewing profanity as a legit means of communication, however, is much greater.

Get some surround sound headphones.

Or the game might have a headphone mode, like RDR had.

I understand where the OP is coming from. For the most part, in Online play, the violence and sexual content is avoidable but the language is not. The language from the bystanders come out of no where. Yes, as a 37 year old, I bought the game knowing it was "M" but if my 6 year old just wants to drive the cars and trucks, shouldn't there be a simple setting to turn off the bystanders or language to allow him to do so (apart from the TV mute)? Unlike movies, producers have the ability to add setting to "dumb down" the game if the purchase wishes... why not offer this feature?

Maybe you shouldn't let your impressionable young crotch fruit sit in front of the televisión while you play GTA V. There is an idea.

Well... is the cursing worse than the murder and mayhem?

But I will say that the level of cursing is a little overdone... seems like people in LS are obliged to curse at least once or twice per sentence.

I couldn't care less, about it personally, but it would be nice to be able to turn off non-critical NPC dialog... You can't even walk in the mountains without having the first person you encounter calling you a "F**king a**hole" just for walking past them on the trail.

It sort of just gets stupid-annoying after a while.

That's why I use headphones when I play games, I don't have to worry about my family hearing whats going on in the game, especially in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. I suggest you use headphones, they ill help you out alot.

f*ck ME IN THE ASS.

"Holy f*ck!"

As much as I'd like to help, I can't suggest anything. Just keep the volume on low.
