Has fighting been improved? If so, how much and how?

Not much has been said about fighting yet.

 

Expect it to be more free flowing though.

It doesn't seem like it, the fighting animations are literally exactly like GTA IV's judging by the gameplay trailer and the second trailer.

I hope so I just don't want it to be Sleeping Dogs style.

I don't quite understand. :dontgetit:  The best part of Sleeping dogs was the fighting. Everyone loves guns but if we had more missions where melee combat was necessary I'd love a strike/combo/counter system like Sleeping Dogs. Take down a fight club was some good fun.

I think it have been improved alot, i remember they said "hits feel more satisfying" but that doesnt prove its smooth and good combat :p but i think its good

Counters might of been easy, I mean everything has it's learning curb but the part about not being hit while engaging another enemy is complete bull.

R* said the fighting is more free-flowing. You do not have to lock on to an enemy to fight them. You can easily fight any enemy from any direction.

I saw the video and a few new things were said. Scratches on body? I never knew about that. Cant wait to see for myself what melee will feel and look like.

unless there is no fight club mini game ( and it seems lke there isnt ) I dont really care.

It wont be nearly as complex and polished as the one of sleeping dogs but I hope for counter attack though

Well, if we look at the Egochasers video we can see a guy on the beach and he seems to be throwing a punch, could be a melee move. Also in that leaked video of that ingame tv show you can see someone using melee, a NPC, but still. Anyway, melee has seen a big overhaul, melee weapons feel powerful and you can hear/feel the crunch....sounds good to me. That guy mentioned the shurikens and nunchaku too.
