What a stupid topic. PS Home was a sim. GTA Online will be nothing like PS Home. I think you secretly wish it was, and I have a feeling you're one of those people you described who spent their life on it.. Sorry to dissapoint.

You fail to understand the question. If you have read about GTA Online, it's more or less has the same features as home.

-Own a crib

-Hang with friends in a virtual world

-Play mini games

-Fully customize your character

-Go to the movies and do dozens of activities

I can go on and on. I'm asking, "Do you think people will lose thier life to GTA Online? Will people live a second life in the virtual world that is San Andreas."

Isn't that what games are for?  To devote every waking minute of every day to the game to achieve the highest level of success possible?  Because if not someone please TELL me....

I'm sure there will be people out there who take things too seriously. I also anticipate people the go overboard with the crews system, enacting rigid codes with disciplinary actions. I don't see a problem with it. It's GTA, it's all about the freeroam. If you want to go on an in game date, good for you. I'll personally be spending most of my time engaged in illicit acts and trying to survive confrontations with police and gang members. If someone wants me to tag along on a "social" venture, I'll do it. On the same note, someone is more than welcome to bring a car and race along the interstate as we outrun County Sheriff deputies. As long as you're not out trying to be a pain in the ass, I could care less. Kick back and just enjoy the game we waited five years for.

I'm sure people will take it more seriously than others.

Not my place to decide where the tipping point between serious and too serious is for other people though.

This is essentially my stance on things. GTA is freedom, so you play how you want. I only have issues with the trolls and griefers out there, that starts to infringe on other players' freedom.

I remember I was playing GTA once and there was a Player in the game who supposedly ran the city, like he was Scarface or something.  He had like 10 of the players in the game that were his followers, basically just riding his dick.  They would do anything he said and he was never alone.  I kid you not he would travel around the map with a car in front of him, behind him, and a chopper over head.  I thought it was the funniest f*cking thing.  So I asked if I could join and he had me meet him in one of the rooms in the strip club.  Three guys escorted me in and he had several more in there standing guard.  So I go into the room and he starts talking about a bunch of non sense, then I said "Its my city now bitch!" as I dropped a grenade and dipped out of the room, LOL! I killed him but I was quickly gunned down by his gay boy men.  Then I was harassed till i quit the game, It was the funniest f*cking thing.

Haha. That's amazing. What a b*tch.

I'm sorry to go back to this post, but I'm guessing you're trolling. Maybe you're one of those people I described in the original post and you got offended. lol. Either way, lighten up. It's a discussion, not a fight.
The fact you needed to ask the question summed it up completely.

You weren't asking the question so you could pass on the answer to the people you described. You want the answer so you can sleep well at night knowing you'll have something to spend your miserable little life on instead of making sh*tty threads all day.

I caught you out, and now you're mad.

STFU, I'm sick of c**ts like you on here. Assuming everything with very little facts. Who are you to accuse somebody of being a sad bastard when you're on a GTA forum accusing people of having a sad life

I look forward to watching movies with my online buddies at the cinema and playing tennis with 'em, but I don't think I'll end up roleplaying, which is pretty much what you're describing. Roleplay is fine when it's text, like you're writing part of a story, but I always feel lame or nerdy when you say it like you're improv acting.

I honestly hope there are people like that only because the troll in me gets a lot of pleasure from ruining their fun, and I really can't think of a better platform for doing that than in the open world of GTA.

Playstation Home Players are known for taking the virtual world too serious and devoting a lot of their life to it. I knew a few people on my friends list who played it from the second they woke up to the second they went to bed. The had "girlfriends" on there, who they were with for over a year. GTA Online is obviously a more diverse world and is packed with a LOT more content. It makes PS Home as a virtual world seem like crap(not that it was good in the first place).

Do you think people will escape to San Andreas and take GTA Online a little too serious?

-Having relationships

-Treating their crib and character as if it was really them

-Taking their partner out on dates skydiving, golfing, movies, tennis, hiking, etc. (LOL)

I will admit when I was a teenager I got wrapped up in an online virtual world but not to the extent that some players go.

Is GTA Online the perfect escape for people who don't have a social life in reality?

Keep PS Home and GTA O away from each other.

I feel what the OP was saying. between rock band songs and PlayStation Home my ex girlfriend had spent hundreds of dollars on bullsh*t. Pointless bullsh*t. seems like it was a second life to me...it got weird to the point she was introducing me to people I gave no s*** about while she was "hangin" in her new loft or batcave with her friends.

I got her playing GTA 4 & I couldn't get her off of it. her and her crew were annoying helicopter pros.I can only imagine how she is going to act with GTAV.

Huh, speaking of batcave...

...and if people wanted to treat GTA Online in that manner, what's the problem? Is it affecting your experience with the game? I didn't think so. If you're so concerned, why not volunteer yourself to be their chauffeur...or crash their "date" and blast their vehicle off the road?

Live and let live, friend.

I have a problem with them mostly because they completely ruin the game with A)shouting at the mic B)spamming threats via PSN/XBL C)reporting people to whoever controls bans because they killed their internet grlfreunds and D)doing all of the above to impress their internet gurlfruends

I'm sorry but I've played my share of MMOs and frankly I'm sick of that sh*t.

People on this forum piss me off way too much trying to make others miserable and trying to be the one who's got the best social life outside of GTA, when on reality; no-one on this site really gives a f*ck.

We talk about GTA, we talk about the crazy sh*t we can do in GTA that we'd be locked up for in reality.

We don't care who "gets laid", or "get high and get wasted", or who has the most friends. I don't see the reason you all put each other down; we have this community because we share a similar interest. GTA.

Now, I agree people will do this, hell, it is inevitable. Let them be. If you wanna do it, fine by me, I ain't stopping you.

people might take the game to seriously, but who cares? i know i will roleplay because i find it fun. it doesn't mean i will live in the game though, and i don't think many people will since gta isn't really that kind of game(to me atleast).
