Did they ever give a reason for the delay in March? I was thinking that maybe they had to downsize or work with the game because it did not run correctly. What are your thoughts

I think they just wanted to polish it a bit more. I don't think they needed 4 months, but delaying into the summer meant waiting till the fall for a good release date because you don't launch indoor entertainment in the summer. September is as close as they could get to fall because later would have been two fiscal quarters' delay instead of one.

This.

I gotta say the wait was worth it, at first, it was cofirmed that you won't be able to buy properties, and now you are able to do that. They probably decided to add more features as well.

I think besides them polishing it up, I think they added the ability to buy property, get haircuts, smoke weed etc.

IMO they never really intended to release it around that time anyway. We have seen so much new things and updates. Remember when they first said no property, etc? Well...

Or... they listened to the community and delayed the game to implement things the community wanted but weren't in at that point. Hm.

The official statement was that the game needed a little polish. The may previews from scandinavian magazine ''gamereactor'' stated that Rockstar still worked on the soundtrack and the voicework. The game simply wasn't complete.

They saw the reaction when they said "no purchasable properties" and they added all kinds of stuff. Had it not been for fans' reaction, we may've gotten another boring GTA game.

But really, they couldn't get the realistic steak just right so they delayed it. It takes time for something as important as that. Now, the map may be too small for realistic steak, so we may only get one slice of realistic pizza. If so, :sui:
