Yes, some people will finish it within two days. Its a 20-25 hour game at most. This isn't San andreas.

My friend beat gta Iv in 9 hours

I don't see the point of beating a game as soon as you get it.

thats pretty stupid. why rush? there's no point.

I'm stretching this game out as much as I could possibly can, then get on GTAO eventually

Why rush the game. I'll be playing the story mode for at least 7-8 months

I don't think I will because I'm kinda busy but i will take my time and definitely won't rush the experience just to play online. It can wait. I will also try to platinum this game.

I think you're forgetting the time it will take to explore all of this map and all the other stuff that comes with it.... that will be a long and very enjoyable experience there is absolutely no reason to rush through the story! We've been waiting almost 2 years for this game!!! I want to take my time with it :)

Probably but like all games, will I? No. I like to go slow with missions, spread them out between doing missions, side missions, exploring and fun.

If i do strictly main missions and rush through not enjoying the game then it can easily be done in 3-4 days at 6 hours a day.  But i will not rush and i will enjoy every aspect of the game while playing singleplayer and do not give 3 sh*ts if i finish it before online comes out.

With work and other responsibilities like going out to the bars in richmond on the weekends, you can bet when I play I'll be borderline strictly playing the story. Theres really no point in free roaming in singleplayer for me since I want to have the story done by the time online drops. Once that happens I can do all the free roam I ever imagined except online since they haven't cut anything from the world for gta online.

I beat GTA IV in four days but this time I'm going to take things very slow and do many activities rather than rushing the story. I want GTA V's story to last at least until GTA Online.

Wrong, There is around or over 100 hours of gameplay. I also honestly doubt your "friend" beat GTA 4 in 9 hours.

Pretty sure the 100+ hours figure includes side missions and things. No way the main story is 100 hours. 30 would be impressive, but probably too long.

OT: I tend to blow through stories in games pretty quick (few days). If I don't play consistently I forget what's happening. If it's good I'll play through it multiple times anyway. Whether I'll be able to depends on how school/work is going next week.

I want to take my time. I want to enjoy the game. Do you eat a chocolate bar in 5 seconds? No. Because you savor it. I'm gonna do the same with GTA V

Should be doable, I think. I am slightly more interested in the online part of it, so I`ll pass the time remembering how to drive fast, without hitting the scenery.. again.

I'm going to try to not complete the story mode as much as I can actually. I wanna do a couple missions then goof around and maybe do a couple more then that's it. I can't finish the game before GTAO gets here.

Some people will do it in days. Whether its their eagerness to see the game's ending or just to have "bragging rights" and say that they beat the game before others, you are going to have those who rush through the story.

Personally, I am going to take my sweet time with the story. It took me 2 weeks to complete GTA IV's story, but with all of this stuff surrounding GTA V, it may take me about a month or two to complete the story. The map we have is massive in my opinion, and I am just going to spend way too much time screwing around, exploring, roleplaying and what not.
