So there's going to be a shortage of the biggest, most anticipated game this year?! They never learn, do they?

Because ASDA and other supermarkets haven't had to deal with a GTA release in 5 years I think they are going to underestimate the amount of people wanting to buy it. They've gotten use to the yearly occurrence of Call of Duty and will slightly overlook GTA.

I can confirm Dant40nova's statement. My local ASDA (Hunts Cross Liverpool) has also stopped taking orders. However the woman did say there will be some for sale at midnight. I wouldn't take the risk personally!

Has a number been released on how many pre-orders have been received.

It has to be record breaking

You should buy it off Amazon. It's currently 34.99 with free release day delivery. You might get lucky and get it a day early. It's happened to me for all the games I've ordered off Amazon.

I'd better go into Tesco & pay off my pre-order, which I made before it was delayed.

Already done that but our postman arrives late. With it being due on Tuesday i doubt it will be sent before the Monday.

This happened for GTA IV as well.

There was a shortage in stores and after the preorders were taken care of there was only around 3 or 4 copies in store after that.

Assad won't be ordering anything for the time being... except missile strikes on his neighbouring countries perhaps!

Have to agree with you,

When Gta4 was released My big 24/7 Tesco had only enough copies for people who had pre-ordered, and only had several copies left over lol

People who may not get their copy delivered on the 17th will race down to the supermarket only to find they are all sold out again.

my local asda did this with GTA IV. I was working there at the time. It was hilarious because there was a queue a mile long and we only had 8 copies in a cardboard box to hand out at midnight. Yeah, I didn't offer to be the person handing them out. Asda, like any supermarket suck for big releases, mate.

Lol asda are f*cking retarded for buying stuff, all they care about is ripping you off,  a little tub of ice cream is £2.70, a stupid little tub and a bag of 50g of nuts is nearly a fiver, i dont know what the amarican asda is like but i heard you buy massive packages of good food for a good price and you can buy stuff in bulk, our country has gone to the sewers.

Am suprised asda hasnt put the game prices up to a 500 pounds.

For anyone who doesn't know, ASDA are part of the WalMart global empire...

I work at Tesco on Entertainment. We only get so many hundred copies for release day so many of those have to be held back for pre-orders and a lot for people queuing at midnight. It's could be a couple of days until the next delivery box arrives.

That's not preordering, that's buying.

I was planning to taking a display case to the till and pay a £5 deposit before the release date... how is that not pre-ordering?

Though I don't live overseas, this doesn't bode well for those who wished to obtain a physical copy upon release and have yet to pre-order their copies. The digital iteration (for those purchasing/planning to purchase for the PS3) might very well be the only viable option for them if they so wish to play on release day.

Slight sarcasm, but it's practically release day already so it's not far off just buying.

Ive pre-ordered at Tesco and had to e-mail them because of this:

zv28hv.jpg

Got a phonecall off them and they said " We usually send pre-orders out as soon as we recieve the shipment, but it is usually on the day of release ".... Fingers are crossed!
