Remember, they will make double this in ONE DAY. On launch day, I can guarantee you at least 5 million copies will be sold which altogether is $300,000,000 and IV made 320. But I think they will sell 8 million on launch day which is $480,000,000 and some of it will go to take two, nevertheless, they've already made profit. In one year, they will sell 30 million copies or 35 = $1,800,000,000.

So they have to sell over 4 million copies just to profit? Considering selling 1 milion copies would yield around 50 million dollars acording to the 60 dollar price tag, and other companies getting their cut.

rockstar dont use many other companies but the people they hire do get paid allot.

Something interesting that I just found out and I don't believe has been posted before, GTA V's budget was £170 million.

The article below also has other nice little tidbits too, such as one of the bridges in GTA V being modeled after the Forth Road Bridge.

I'm sure they just got the bridge confused with the Vincent Thomas as they both look similar in some aspects.

- most expensive video game of all time

- and only one movie was more expensive (Pirates o/t Caribbean: At Worlds End was more expensive: $300,000,000)

With budgets like this there is a gaming bubble about to burst. Movies and games have gotten way too expensive to make and sooner or later big budget games will not sell well enough. This only needs to happen a couple of times for the gaming market to have a significant crash which puts the crash in the 1980s to shame.

before developing, R* has already exist engine, script from other successful titles ,just make some upgrade

I don't think it will t cost double of GTA IV's budget

People already find ways to get the lowest price as possible. This will happen ye.

Outstanding! Absolutely outstanding! My predictions were correct: this will be one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time.

Makes me proud I have been following the development of GTA V for nearly 2 years and it looks like it will be another great Scottish/British success story being made in my hometown.

For what?!

For developing the game.

And the map is 49 sq miles. Is that big because i have no idea what the other games were

49 sq miles is HUGE! :)  San Andreas map size = 13.9 sq. RDR = 15.9 sq. GTA IV = 6.8 sq that's 36.6 sq miles altogether.

GTA V has made a good amount of profit. It's worth all the marketing and hardwork in last 5 years.

GTA5 is using Bullet Physics Library   what is that

I think it's the same bullet physics engine that they used in Max Payne 3. In the official trailer when you see Trevor(?) shooting the surveillance camera, you can make out the individual pellets if you watch it in slo-mo.

GTA is and will always be their golden ticket. If you can make twice in one day of what you spent on a game its really, really an art on its own.

Get a f*cking life. Who gives a sh*t about fishing, is that what you do for a living? This game is GTA not fishing simulator. We still have other mini games.

But in fact, it won't take a year. It's gonna happen in 6 months. Watch and learn.
