5 f*cking years for 70 missions?

Calm the f*ck down. RDR still took me quite a while to complete with the less missions it has.

What would you rather have?

More missions that are small and uneventful? (GTA IV)

Or

Less missions that are long and action packed? (GTA V)

Even if there are less missions I'm sure it will make up for it in length and content. Plus all the random encounters you have between missions.

Well, according to Dickleader, those 70 missions includes all stranger & side missions. Obviously he provided no source for this, but he's of such impeccable character....yeah.

Have people already forgotten that a lot of these missons will have more than one protagonist participating. Therefore, we'll be able to replay them & switch between them at different points. Also, they said we won't be forced to use a specific car (or other vehicle), so you'll be able to complete them in different ways. Oh & the recent IGN preview, described missions as being more freeform, which he said was a bit overwhelming due to the hand holding/linear nature of all games these days, even open world games.

It's not about the quantity , it's about quality but damn it's lower than I expected.... we have three characters you know....

70 missions.

But confirmed that there are optional side missions to heists to gain assets to make it easier.

So there are 6 heists. Say there are 5 optional side missions, that's an extra 30 missions.

Complainers are right, I expected more missions (around 110 missions). 70 missions for a big game with 3 main characthers is short.

I'm not mad at all.

Most of that video seems to be speculation and stuff we already knew. I think the 70 figure comes from the leaked achievement list. Even if it is 70 missions is a pretty decent amount in any event.

They don't know wtf they are talking about.

This. CVG just speculate. That is why I don't like them.

Chill out everybody. Red Dead told an amazing story in only 54 missions. To me that's all that matters because the most important thing is to keep the integrity of the narrative intact. Red Dead certainly succeeded in this and I am confident that R* can succeed with V too. If you just want to have a sh*t ton of missions with no real story progression or character development then hop on GTA Online and play all of the 500 missions that are available to you! Also remember that R* spoils us with the amount of missions they do give us. Most other games you'd be lucky to get 10 hours out of them before they end. Such is the case with the recently released splinter cell blacklist

Where's the official source stating there is 70 missions? Did this come from Rockstar themselves?

I think its important to realize a few things.
1. A lot of GTA IV missions were extremely simple errand boy tasks.
2. GTA V won't be like GTA IV, in that once the story is done there's nothing to do. Dynamic robberies, sports, bounties, hunting, stocks, and a plethora of customization options more than makes up for it.
3. The missions in GTA V are prime for replayability, which we will be able to do with any mission via the phone. I know a lot of people played GTA IV's Three leaf clover mission multiple times. So imagine that kind of replayability pretty much throughout.
4. GTA Online has nearly 200 missions at launch. And when you add the potential for the mission editor there is endless replayability.
With all that said its easy to see GTA V is 3 times the size of GTA IV, both geographically, and content wise.

Listen to this wise man. He speaks the truth.

I'm very happy

70 missions.

6 heists

Side missions

Random encounters

Fun activities

Customization

In game tv/radio

Cheats

Stores

Online

Attention to detail (graphics)

Loads of vehicles and

A HUGE map

I don't understand how anyone can complain about. That will keep me going for years as I still play IV.

OT: I completed COD MW3 in about 4 hours.

There's still plenty of time to cancel your pre-order. That's $60 to go towards COD: Casper Edition.

70 missions is good enough. Don't forget that there are multiple endings so you can replay the storyline 2 - 3 times and it would be a new experience every time. And all the side missions plus the dynamic missions. The missions in V will be fewer than IV, sure, but quality over quantity always rules! Ungrateful pimpled little maggots piss me off.

Everyone really does believe anything they hear.

This. Only got this far, cba reading 6 more pages of crap.

that logic would mean that GTAV still could be a totally different game than we think.
who knows, probably we will get some little ponies jumping around on sept 17th

Yes, it could be a totally different game to what we think, if we believe everything everyone says.

I say there will be a 25foot dog that shoots bananas out of it arse. Does that mean its in? No.

There may be less in single player, but QUALITY over QUANTITY. The GTA V mission previews do not make me doubt the game will have the best, most diverse missions in the series.

Bear in mind, everyone, that GTA Online will have its own missions.

only 70? :O 23 per each character?

thats really less than i expected, and the game looks small now

Per character?

Many missions will involve multiple characters at the same time.

I can be wrong, cause I'm not English speaking person, but I was sure that these guys from IGN were asked how long is the story and they said they don't know. They were trying to recall how many missions have GTA IV had and they said "about 70". So, when they said "seventy" I think they were talking about IV.

If it is 70 , then it is 70x3=210 missions.

There are three protagonists in the game, and all have different ways to do the missions.

So we could as well say that these are 70 cross/missions like we had in the GTA 4 dlc.

So yeah, if it is 70, it is more then enough.

Besides, did we all forget about what GTA online has to offer?

From the missions I have read that IGN posted it seems like every mission is going to be unique and fun, take away the tedious missions in GTAIV and that doesn't leave you with many exciting missions.

I think so many are disappointed because they were hoping for a good solid long campaign. The less mission's, the shorter the story/campaign. Personally, I was hoping for more, But I'll take it. With so much to do in this game, I think "70 something" is more than enough.
