Will GTA V (including GTA Online) run on PS3 12GB Super Slim?

(Just interested in facts, not opinion. No console wars please.)

It will. But since it's on 12GB, you may get in trouble after patches and DLC.

You still have to install it, like the Xbox 360, but it's only 8 GB from what I know, and you have 12 GB, so it should be fine.

i don't think it'll work, since you won't get the full 12GB, and the full size of the game is meant to be 16GB, with an 8GB mandatory install.  i've heard that the 360 has the option to install the full 16GB at once, so i'm assuming the PS3 has 2 separate installs of 8GB.

You're referring to an external flash drive? Any info on that?

If I understand correctly (see here), one can just insert a regular 2.5 SATA drive.

From http://www.rockstarg...wered-gtav.html:

For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

Yes it will work, unfortunately, you have very little space on your PS3 to download any DLC or patches.

The best thing to do is to look at how much space you have left in the system information, putting a hard drive in a super slim is expensive because you need the hard drive caddy too.

You should buy a flash USB if you want to install any DLCs and bonus stuff.

PS3 12gb 200 dollars.  GTA 5 60 bucks.  Roughly.  PS3 500gb GTA5 bundle 269.99.  So why not go for the bundle?

This is why I got the PS3 Super Slim 500gb, it was pretty cheap, so I thought f*ck it, Buy that.

I had a really old 40gb PS3 and it was not reading disks first time ect. so I wanted a new PS3 to play GTA V on.

That model supports external USB flash storage? (Link?)

What's the point in buying a new PS3 at this time of the console generation?

Used ones sell for way cheaper and they will last for years.

You HOPE that they will last for years.  You have no idea how the previous owner took care of it and they dont have a warranty if something does sh*t out.

Many of you might not know this, but you CAN upgrade the internal storage of the Super Slim model.

The Super Slim has an empty HDD slot. It takes a standard 2.5" SATA HDD that is up to 9.5mm in height (Some 2.5" drives are 12mm in height - too big).

You will also requre a Super Slim PS3 HDD Mount/Caddy. You can find these on eBay or Amazon for fairly cheap.

Once you install the HDD, it is usable like any other internal storage, including for storing game files.

A little bit of extra expense, but cheaper than having to buy a whole new console.

This has to be on the top 10 dumbest questions of all time.

GTA V is a ps3 game. Ps3 slim IS a Ps3. There for it will automatically be playable on it.

Where do you dumb asses come from?

Rockstar Games didn't develop a game for just some PS3s. They'll make it work.

with all deleted on my ps3 slim 12gb the free space showing in system information is 9101MB so its just over 9GB , the mandatory install is about 8GB so should be fine , game saves are typically kbs in size , so should be fine

well gtav is an xbox game and an xbox is an xbox but it won't automatically be playable on a 4gb one , ya gonna need a flash drive with 16gigs free and a 16 gig pen drive will be less than 16 gb so ya gonna need a 32gig one
