Not sure if this is confirmed.

The police would often chase down NPC's in IV, don't ever recall seeing an actual crime being committed though.

I'd hope so. It would be cool seeing a firefight with the police and a gang.

They did but if you tried to help them such as pushing them over, the police would come after you! That was bullsh*t, especially when you used to get rewarded in past GTAs.

There hasn't been actual 'Crime' in GTA since GTAIII .. Something I really hated.

I don't expect NPC's to be leading revolutions or plotting intricate heists, but I'd like to see some driveby's, robberies, police - Community disturbances.

It got to a point (particuarly in IV) that you were literally the only person in the entire city who commited a crime.

i hope so. i actually miss the tense feeling of driving through a sh*tty neighborhood in san andreas knowing that some npc in a blue checkered shirt and gray shorts might run up and pull me out of my car and drive off... i truly missed that from san andreas, and hope they bring it back.

i'd also like to see a good shoot-out between criminals and cops after robbing a liquor store or mugging someone.

What i'd like to see is when you go to rob a liquor store, you walk in the store to find out that someone is already robbing it. That would be pretty cool

I think it's obvious that there will be random events such as crimes that will spring into action when you're just out and about.

I hope so. It would make the game more interesting. Seeing NPC's commit crimes can also make the world look better, since you're not the only person committing a crime.

I remember playing IV last month, and I provoked fights in the streets so police arrest the NPC's.

IV had chases, but V should have robberies, fights, shootings and car (and on-foot) chases.

The previews back in November '12 mentioned random events, hopefully NPC crimes are one of those random events.

They said that NPC's have life-like activities like getting buses and going to work, so I'm sure there could be some criminals in there, like muggers and stuff.

One time during as long as I've played GTA IV (a lot, trust me) I've only seen an NPC steal a car once. And when you saw a being held at gunpoint by a police officer you could only run into him to get a thanks (if you pushed him you'd get a Wanted Level) but I'm hoping they make it like in RDR a "unique world event?" or something...? Where if you pushed them (you'd get away with shooting them in RDR too, and you could choose to help the criminal) you won't get wanted because that's what you were supposed to do.

I've witnessed fights etc in IV. That's Something at least, ha.

Car crash->fight->Police arrest NPC, including walking them back to their vehicle at gunpoint.

I would love to see them expand on that, it would really breathe life into the streets/countryside. Gang shootouts, high speed chases on the freeway and car jackings would all be a great start.

There were only carjackers in GTAs for years, and that was pretty much it as far as ped crime went (besides a fight here and there). I don't expect much more in V either.

Carjackers and gang violence.. that's pretty much it.

Would be nice to see crimes committed by others than just me. Drivers speeding and crashing to escape Police, shoot outs, robberies. Not too often though, just every so often. Also it's awesome to be car jacked and shot at for no reason, as annoying it can be. But it keeps you on your toes and makes you feel like more apart of a dangerous, real world.

it's confirmed you can either help the victims or even assist criminals and share profit with them

We should be rewarded for stopping a criminal. Ah the good old +$50 for kicking the sh*t out of the person a cop was chasing.

I remember reading this too. In one of the previews. Something along the lines of walking into a liquor store and finding it being held up, and then having the option to intervene or help.

If I remember correctly, didn't San Andreas have random police car chases?

I sure hope so, NPC's didn't do sh*t in IV. It would be nice to see them selling drugs or even getting into altercations with each other or the player. Even better would be if they killed each other randomly, gang killings and such.

I would love to see (in moderate amount):

random gang wars

random street fights

pedestrian drug deals

people running red lights

police chasing people on foot

police chasing people by car

random helicopters chasing people

random convenience store stickups (while we're in the store)

random car jackings

random drunk drivers

Technically, the pedestrians who picked up prodtitutes were commiting crimes.
