Since the day GTA online was announced I had the idea to make my online character just a regular guy/gal. I want to make money and build up an empire of businesses without using violence at all. I plan on doing jobs like taxi missions or investing or racing to save up cash.

One thing I was wondering was if we can have a crew dedicated to making money in a legal way.

For obvious reasons I know 99% of players wont do this but I'm sure I'm not the only one that will play GTAO like this. Who else would be down to play like this and maybe even start a crew?

EDIT: I read everyones replies and pretty much everyone makes valid points about other players chasing me down and blasting me for no reason. So heres a few things to add to my original post-

1. Yes there is a passive mode but I dont think I will do it all the time. I like the thrill of a chase so if i race someone online and then they try to rob me I still want it to feel dangerous.

2. Ill probably carry a small melee weapon like a knife (or that sweet hammer Im getting with my special edition) for protection from not only other online players but NPCs as well. Ive read that they can attack us too.

3. By building up stamina and strength skills I'll be better at defending myself against unarmed or lightly armed players too

4. Dont forget- hunting is in so I wont always be unarmed.

My PSN is JPCotnoir. Send me a message with passive mode in the subject if you want to put a crew together and maybe we can do something in a couple weeks

That's an interesting way to play online. I probably wouldn't play like it on my account just so I can get the full feel of the gameplay but it certainly seems like a viable way to play.

Pacifism is a real playstyle believe it or not.  In GTA Online however, sadly, pacifism will get your ass nowhere fast.  Unless cops investigated murders or you have a dedicated gang, you will be found dead and your wallet stolen off your cold dead body.

I hear there is a passive mode for all the pacifists though, so there's that.

Also, I'm pretty sure all the players with bad rep will get weeded out and repeatedly killed.  Sure they'll have targets on their backs and hits put on them.  They'll learn the unwritten codes soon enough.

Stocks, property, petty jobs, even stealthing heists if that counts.

Heck, if you can sell cars and weapons that's another source.

There's more than mowing down pedestrians and missions y'know =P

If we can have multiple online characters (which I doubt) it would be cool. I would have a joe shmoe hanging out golfing and selling cars and then I would have a crazy serial killer dude for when I get bored with the other guy.

At some point your online character is going to have to shed blood, or your body will be lined in chalk on the pavement.

Sooner or later, you're going to have to defend yourself.

You can expect to get gunned down as soon as you enter a gamemode, espically free mode.

That will only work in passive mode. It wouldn't work any other way. People would target you over and over again.

That's respectable.

If I see you online, I'll go easy on ya. Actually, let's break down on that scenario.

I battle you, and I give you the option to either give me some of your money, or I knock you out and take your wallet in general. What do you do? Fight back, or stay non-violent?

This sounds pretty cool....if you had a interesting radio voice and a good way to record, I would watch a day in the life of _________ the taxi driver, turned car salesman, turned bawsaq broker.
