I tried to search for this topic, but search kept bringing me to Error Page.

I've never actually bought anything from the PS Store, so not sure how it works.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of doing so instead of buying disc from local store?

I'd rather have a map, cover, disk, manual and a cheaper price than a digital download. I don't even class myself as owning Tomb Raider, inFamous or the Splinter Cell trilogy because I have them all digitally. That's just how I see it

Hmmm....didn't know it was cheaper. That's all I really care about. I don't need a map or a disc to scratch.

Buy the game on disc. Not only is it way cheaper, but you also get the map, game cover and the manual.

Though I opted for the digital route, owning a tangible, physical copy of the game where available is the best option.

I mean... R* kinda work hard on the cover of the game too so im buying the physical copy. Plus, it comes with a map and booklet. And if the booklet is like GTA IV's then its great.

There's really no difference.

I'm kinda forced to at this point. My blue-ray scanner sh*t out on me, because that's apparently what great PS3s do. Yeah, that's right folks. Your PS3 could be in perfect care, but if that blue-ray scanner breaks, that's the end of disc gaming for you. Yeah, I'm bitter about it. Not going to waste my time/money fixing it when PS4 is right around the corner.

Anyway, I already have my copy preordered on the PSN store. Only things are this: You may have to wait for PSN store to update. It will on release date, but I think it may take longer in the day. Could be wrong, but hey.

You also don't get the case/map/case. I already know I'll just end up paying 50 cents for the map to my friend, or something like that because they never use theres.

I like the idea of having a physical copy, mainly because I know that in 10 years from now, when I'm sorting through my old stuff, I'll come across the case and get the same nostalgic feeling that I get now when I look at my old GTA III, VC, and SA cases.

I'd imagine having the physical copy would be the best route, just for the map, and booklet.. I have to use the PS digital download, the daughter board for my Blu ray drive is out. Sometimes it likes to work though...

The PS Store had it for £50 iirc while some places are selling it for £35 for a hard copy. Also fixed your font for you.

EDIT: Yes £49.99 http://www.thesixtha...wnload-is-18gb/

Thank you everyone for the info.

From what I can tell, there is no difference in the game being played from console or disc and it's just a personal preference. I like the idea of not having to worry about the blu-ray scanner. Since I will never sell the game I don't need a physical copy for that reason. I'm pulling up the same prices everywhere...I think the digital copy costs more in Europe (I'm in the States).

I'm kind of lazy. I'd rather just start the download from Store (instead of stop by game store) before I head to work and hopefully it won't f' up and it'll be ready when I get home.

Thanks again.

I was thinking the same, maybe disc is better because you have instructions, maps, radio names, credits...

When i checked Digital version is 69€ I'm wrong maybe.

Retail: £35 (average price, and it's possible to get the game for £26 online, like I did)

Digital:£59 (PS Store)

Physical copies of the the game are cheaper than digital copies of the game.

In my case, the digital download copy is cheaper than the hard copy, so I will pay a 257 UAE Dirhams ($69.99) instead of paying 450 UAE Dirhams ($122.52).

Sony's servers will crash when thousands of people try and download the game at the same time.

Disc is the way to go with GTA V.

You might want to talk to Audiophile he seems to be in the know about how Day 1 PSN digital reserves work. That guy or gal seems to have an extensive knowledge on the subject.

From what I've heard it will use the disc mostly for audio/video files so performance wise it wouldn't really matter.

Can you point me in the direction of this particular user's post(s) regarding this subject? I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a tad bit concerned as to what may occur.

I suggest getting the digital copy if your Blu Ray drive is out, like mine. That's why I got digital. I prefer the physical copy of games... but it really doesn't matter how you get it, you're still gonna get to play and enjoy the game.

Pros - Entire game is installed to HDD, faster loading times, less pop-in.

Cons - Partial installation, Slower loading times, more pop-in, No map, case and instruction/Tourist guide.

If you got the CE go for it, you'll never see that again and they are in short supply everywhere.
