I find it a bit disturbing that everyone here is obsessed with big things.

Nice, can you make one comparing LS by night (2004) and LS by night (2013) - you know that amazing screenshot from Tuesday.

Only idiots are worried about the size, really. All the pictures and sh*t indicate that the map is huge.

Have you even seen San Andreas with the mist off, it's pretty small.

Mist is a powerful tool in games.

the map should be fine, as long as almost all the streets feel unique it will be fine.you could want a bigger map since lots would love a huge map, but its not even close to being small enough to complain about.

^^^^At first glance, she looks hot. But after figuring out that she's drinking that horse piss, that tells me all I need to know and I wouldn't piss on that skank if she was on fire.

It doesn't look very big to me. Once I play and see it for myself, maybe I'll change my mind. I know it will be detailed and awesome though.

I already posted this. It's a good comparison. I haven't been worried about map size. This just really shows us much Rockstar has progressed in the last 9 years or so.

I'm pretty sure the IGN guys confirmed that every shop/building in the game will be unique so it's safe to say that it will feel unique :p

I find it a funny that this couldn't go in one of the 100 other "for those worried about map size" threads. But that's just me

I have no clue why people are afraid of the map size, it's going to be huge.

And compare that to IV. I'm happy with the soze of the map from what I've seen so far. Not a huge fan of the all island layout, but I love the mountains and the desert. Finally some Sanchez turf!

I really think its not so important how big the map really is but how big it feels.

SA felt huge but really wasn't. So if they can make it feel huge, then that is what matters

San Andreas had two more city's though. I would rather a smaller city but have more of them. I just think it will be strange venturing out into the wilderness knowing you have to go straight back the way you came from to get back to a city unlike San Andreas.

On a completely different note, WHAT THE f*ck HAS HAPPENED TO THE FORUM?

People can draw red circles and green lines on screenshots all they want to try and prove something.

The map is gonna be huge regardless.

Well in my opinion, small has the upperhand sometimes. Small can fit through big, but big can't fit through small - It makes sense.
Tom and Jerry is the perfect example.

So yep. It doesn't seem small at all compared to San Andreas.

this. gameplay and entertainment value > map size... could be a 6x6 square and R* would still make it fun :p

Plus the view/draw distance isn't anything special, it's like that in GTAIV as well, maybe not as pretty but it's still there.

Please ignore my epic paint skills, but here a roughly "sketch" of the entire map based on the recent picture with the skydivers:
