So, playing a bit more of racing games, getting a bit more fascinated by cars, and finally realized that manual transmission is not featured in any GTA game as of yet (as far as I can see). So, if you could have this in GTA V, would you like it or even use it? Would it be your go-to option if you can activate it for any car, or would you set your eye on whatever cars had 'em?

As an option sure why not. But it wouldnt go down very well if it was forced. Has any other sandbox game tried it?

No, modern controllers have enough buttons for whatever amount of crap developers want to assign to them, its how its arranged that matters.

Now a manual transmission would be fun, but I can do without it if not included. What I do wish R* would do is include the animation of the protag shifting gears while driving. Manuals were in IV, but it looked so goofy when Niko was driving as if it was a automatic.

It's a small thing but it would look badass!

It would be difficult if there was a clutch, I like it the way it is.

GTA already has its driving controls stocked.. what would they get rid of to give us the useless ability to shift gears?

No thanks. There's already too much sh*t going on in GTA games while driving to have to worry about shifting gears.

It should be available at mod shops and like real manual transmissions offer the edge over autos gear boxes. Having control over gear changes makes going sideways so much fun.

I think it would be very fun to drive at what ever gear we want to. Like when going up hill we need it to stay in 1st gear

I could just see some moron trying to do a drive-by and shift at the same time & accidentally going into reverse instead, and ending up in the enemies' yard upside down in the car.

We should throw weapon mods out too. This isn't CoD or Battlefield.

reasonable.. i'm sure there'll be a way for that regardless. Afterall, they cant make everything extremely realistic. Most people here don't even know how to drive [stick], much less drive at all. They wont understand that. Someone mentioned an animation for it.. That would satisfy me just fine, as the car magically do what it should.

I'd like it if certain vehicles had a manual transmission and it could be toggled on or off in the settings. It would make the racing side missions more fun for me.

I would love the option. It's equally sad/adorable when people think the ability to control the gear you're in is useless. That's the least educated thing I've ever heard about car control. I imagine the people who think a drift button is a good idea would also suggest a gear selection is useless.
