Need help with GTA IV Optimizing for laptop

Hey, I have GTA IV Patch with Visual IV, please help me with optimizing for my laptop biggrin.gif
CPU: Core i5 3317u turbo boost 2.70ghz sometime 3.00ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT 635m
OS: Windows 8 Pro With Media Center

Have you tried the latest patch? is quite old.

captian morgans guide is garbage.... he just made it up as an end user and it really is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors, it does nothing to improve the game

I have a 7670m, bit weaker, and it runs pretty well as is with a bit of tweaking. Depends on your expectations, but you have a better graphics card then me.


One thing I advise is getting injectSMAA




Won't hit your performance, and for me at least, the game was super jaggy without it on my laptop, as the PC version doesn't have AA programmed. (I'm reasonably assuming your laptop is 1366x768 resolution) Will make text/steam overlay a bit blurry, it's worth it.


Although I have an i5-3210m processor. I don't know if that gives me any advantage.


Oh and download and install GFWL before the game. The game has a built in GFWL installer that's broken on Windows 8. The website's version works.
