I like Saints Row The Third, but I know it isn't valuable at all, since I've never played/seen Saints Row 1 or 2. I like the fun I get when I play, I love the driving, but the story... well... it basically sucks. I didn't buy Saints Row IV, but I'm currently watching a complete walkthrough of it, and I like the story a lot more. It's more movie like and, even if it's not realistic or logical at all. One of the first missions of SRTT consisted to rob an armory. An ARMORY! How the hell could that even be possible? You don't go just like "Oh, I feel like robbing an armory today!". You need plans. Plans are the only thing missing from Saints Row 3 and 4. Otherwise, IV's story is good. Well, except for something destroyed at the beginning of the game, which people who played it will understand. And the beginning of the game: how can you crush the president, and then magically take his place, and become a highly acclaimed politician? If someone crushed the president in real life, everybody would want to kill him.
The Saints Row series has gone under a big change when Volition has been sold to Deep Silver. I think that what actually happened is that Volition was starting to write SR IV's story and script, but they lost a lot of money and time and they had to scrap everything because Deep Silver hadn't make any profitable game before. So, they merged a long lost DLC called "Enter the Dominatrix". They already had the map, cars, so they only altered the map a little. But because the game was rushed a lot, the final result was a non-logical, strange game that looked a lot too much like it's predecessor. They only focused on the story. They wanted to get money from people so they could make something a lot better later. But that is only what I think.
