STORY
It's 1987. Vice City. A whole year has passed since Tommy Vercetti removed Diaz and Sonny Foreli thus becoming a new drug lord. But this story is not about him. Flint Casie - a new mobster from Liberty City - comes to this city in pursue of a mystery. His brother was killed here in Vice yet his rest in peace was ruined by an unknown party who completely destroyed his funeral. By coming here Flint expects find out who's behind it. Unfortunately, he will soon enough realise that things here are not done so easy.


Hello smile.gifBEGINit here. Let me present you with a new mod that I'm currently working on and it's quite near finish. GTA: Shine o' Vice. It's a total conversion for VC, similar to GTA Frosted Winter. Therefore the goal of this mod is to present you with new story in GTA universe.

It's a WIP but the scripting part is almost done. What can you expect?

NEW MISSIONS:
There's gonna be aproximatelly 70-80 new missions including new story missions, side missions, asset missions.

NEW COLLECTABLES:
Like hidden Voodoo Masks, Money Coffins, hidden packages in new locations, all new unique jumps, rampages, new various pickup locations.

NEW FEATURES:
Buying clothes - now you can buy various outfits from stores

Buying cars from Sunshine Autos and bikes From bike Chop Shop

Investing in assets - now you not just buy an entire asset but you buy shares. The more shares you buy the more revenue it generates. You can own up to 100% shares of each asset (it takes a lot of money though). Also you may increase the revenue buy doing missions for assets.

Drug dealing. You'll be able to sell coke on streets and get some money for it. A good way to make a fortune actually. Just watch out for cops.

Recognition status. The more you'll work for big lords in Vice city, but especially the more you invest in business the greater recognition status will be. It will help you to live in Vice city since it will offer you discounts on clothes, houses, guns, cars, it will unlock new stuff to purchase and even new activities to do.

NEW MAP CHANGES
NEW SPLASH SCREENS
NEW MENU
NEW HUD STUFF
AND OTHER...

Unfortunately the only thing that stopped me from releasing it earlier was my inability to model. The only script things that are not finished are those that require some mapping/modeling therefore I ask you some help. If someone could lend some help with modeling it would help me a lot to finish this mod as soon as possible. Please smile.gif

Like I said via PM, I'm also making the protagonist and weapons as well as peds. So sit tight. If you want this mod to be done right, wait for me to finish my work.

Wow I really hope you don't give up on this, I remember one of your previous mods loooong time ago and the video was amazing, unfortunely you lost it in HDD crash or something. The selling drugs feature really got me pumped, I always wanted to create a mod for VC to sell drugs since there's nothing to do after main story, but never had enough coding skills.

Here's a tip BEGINit: If the mod doesn't use cleo or certain controller buttons then it can be ported to mobile. icon14.gif (eg. the action button isn't always available on-screen on mobile

What's your thoughts on this being released for mobile VC as well? If you are ok with it being ported but have no mobile device and if no-one else does it then i might as well. lol.gif

BEGINit, you should consider posting a topic in III Modelling section to get someone to help you writing exactly what you need, that way you'll be able to find the right person faster. I'd really like to help you myself but the only thing I can do in 3dsmax is just converting guns from SA/IV to VC/III.

Insane. I never had enough patience to even code 10 missions from scratch.

^^yeah I believe it's being developed since 2009. Got ups and downs. lolleroz was right it's the one which was almost lost because of hdd crash. Started it over from an early backup I had on other PC. Some time later I managed piss myself off because my idea of non linear game became too complex. So got rid of the idea and started again. Not to mention that for some time I was developing it at the same time with Perils of Liberty City and Frosted Winter bug search. Thank God I've not started anything on SA...yet biggrin.gif

Then I'm seriously impressed by your patience and creativity (after all, missions DO need a plot). My TC pretty much died due to lack of both of these tounge.gif

Sorry. for no updates. Unfortunately I wont have an internet connection for quite some time. Im writing fro another pc in a public library. Cant get used to the keyboard d. Anyways, scripting continues

Due to low response of my help requests (I bet everyone plays GTA5) and some real world issues my enthusiasm slowly drops. Nevertheless scipting continues (slow progress).

I have to say that I've got so many things to do in life, that moding gta is probably the slowest process of them all. Nevertheless, its happening. Now the bad news is that I'm pretty much at the point where the process is halted due to the lack of my envisioned models. I scripted everything by taking into account the idea of having a few new buildings, interiors and dynamic objects. Unfortunately, I cannot model well (I'm not going to learn, it would take considerable amount of time). Furthermore, almost every attempt to find someone, who could make those models for me failed (either people encounter various technical problems or simply disappear). So yeah, I'm basically having the game where there's nothing to do script wise because scripting is like 90% done. The last 10% is incomplete and waiting for the new models to be adjusted to. Umm... Did all this make any sense? :)
