Not the saddest song ever by any means, but nonetheless a melancholy tune I've been digging on recently:

While it isn't my favourite "Sad" song, it's pretty amazing.

Johnny's daughter Carlene wrote this song for his birthday, but no one knew that he had recorded it until he passed away and they opened his vault, where they found many tapes that johnny recorded at his home mostly during the 70's, this song being one of them. Another daughter of his actually commented on the video and said the same thing.

"Dance with the Devil" - Immortal Technique. The song is very depressing, and the lyrics are very well written, but i hate the delivery of immortal technique.

^ That song samples a known classical song, but it's still cool.

The saddest song for me would have to be Think Twice III by Jeroen Kimmel. It's an old chiptune song from a Commodore 64 demo. This song makes me feel the saddest out of all songs I've heard. I'll post a piano version since not a lot of people are into chiptune.

The original version can be heard here. I also like like this version for its similar authentic 8bit sound.

This one is probably the second saddest song I know. It gives me the same kind of feeling (for the most part) like the song above, the feeling you get when you lose someone important.

This third song is a different kind of sad. It's more like a love song to me, but it's sad because it makes me feel like those times when I really liked someone and I couldn't tell them. It's my 2nd favorite song of all time.

This fourth song is my favorite song of all time. I listed it last because it's not completely sad. It evokes both sad and uplifting feelings. It also sounds like a love song to me.

Phewwww.  I could go post crazy in this thread.

I always feel special when YT doesn't have the song I want and I have to make my own to share.

This is a traditional song and I really dig this version...so here is Larry Mohr doing a great song about a dog.  Old Blue.

I discovered this just today. Needless to say, it is a very good work of art. I also feel as if I can relate, which is a must-be for almost any good song.

Yes, its kind of funny because its from a comedy movie. Must watch if u are a fan of Richard Pryor..

The big guy who sings, just listen to him and the lyrics, felt like its from the heart...

Have u ever heard of

Cockeye's Song - Once Upon a Time In America

Here is a good scene from that movie, with a different tone to it...Sorry for the bad quality..
