Need help for tags 1G and 2G boost

Personally, I've been using 1G_Boost on Diesel vehicles because such engines, to my knowledge, have lots of low-end power.
I've also been using 2G_Boost on would-be turbo cars since the boost kicks in a little later.
However, I'm also wondering how other people use those tags.

Other potential definitions I've come up with go like this :
1G_Boost : The powerful boost at low speeds acts a lot like cylinder de-activation. Such systems disable up to half their cylinders, which would explain the drastic differences in acceleration.
2G_Boost : The milder boost in speed is more characteristic of an engine with a wide powerband. The extra grunt at low RPMs helps the vehicle launch while still being limited by the engine's peak output.
After extended testing, I find that 1G_Boost overrides 2G_Boost, as the vehicle is not any faster when climbing hills even if both are activated.
