I've become quite a fan of Affleck over recent years, especially for his directing and performances in Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo.

I'm confident Affleck can do the role justice. There's only so much an actor can do in a film. The film needs to be good, first and foremost.

He has the good talent to act as Batman, but after christopher nolan's and Christian bale, we need more macho person to play Batman..
As a fan i agree with this decision but they could get more someone little tougher...

I hope they don't loose the race to create a better batman than Nolan's...
Best of luck..

Good fortune to him. He's a skilled actor who had the misfortune to pick some bad roles that unfairly dirtied his professional reputation.
Dogma, Argo and Hollywoodland all stand as proof of his genuine talent and convince me that he will silence the doubters and give us an amazing performance.

Michael Keaton was the best Batman and Jack Nicholson was the best joker for me.

And is that opinion based on anything other than shallow nostalgia?

What's with the snide remark? I didn't like the new Batman so if you don't like that fact that people have different options that's just tough.

I think the role suits him. Although I'm not really the biggest Affleck fan. I think the last movie I saw of him was Pearl Harbor lol..

But now that he's Batman, I honestly can't think of a better guy for the role.

And my favorite Batman was Bale, and Joker Heath Ledger

I'm just curious if you have any reasons for your opinion that don't boil down to 'Keaton's the best because he was Batman when I was a kid'.
Honestly, that seems to be the main line of thinking of most people who prefer the Burton movies.

Awwww, sheeeit! This is could be a major hit or miss. Ben Affleck is a good actor but that doesn't mean he'll be a good Batman. I would've prefered someone like John Hamm or Josh Brolin since they (WB) were looking for an older batman. His track record with super hero movies isn't brilliant, although you can't put the all the blame on him for the sh*tfest that is Daredevil. I think he'll be a better Bruce Wayne than a Batman. I guess only time will tell... monocle.gif

Batman Begins didn't excite me I didn't mind Bale in general but I think Keaton played it better, I find it hard to describe but I just prefer so many things in Keaton's films like the bat-mobile and the suit were perfect.

At the end of the day it's just personal preference.

I think it's a smart move to head in a different direction than Bale. As far as Affleck's performance, I'm not concerned - just imagine him from The Town transplanted into the cowl. tounge.gif

The only sticking point for me is his... and this is where my argument fails completely due to girlishness... his hair. It's just not Bruce enough. Heh.

I would have preferred Gerard Butler or Anson Mount, personally, but, again, Affleck's got the chops. Hope he bulks up a bit and carries himself like a prizefighter.

Meh, they should've got De Niro for the role imo.

I always wanted Paul Rudd to play Bruce Wayne, I know he's a comedian but I just think he would do a good job.

No offence, but that's a horrible choice.

How about Eric Bana?

Already a Superman/Batman topic. It's not even hard to find, it's been at the top of the page since the news broke...

Eric "weaker chin than Paul Dano" Bana? Don't forget that he's gotta look good in the mask. you can't deny that Affleck's got it covered there.

Wat.

Batman actors must be all about the chin? Does that mean any old c*nt with a face-ass already has an advantage?

Hell, sign up Jennifer Aniston for the role. That bitch would take out Jay Leno if they were to ever kiss.

It's f*cking stupid how pissed I am about this. This really really won't end well. Should have gone with Brolin.
