Serious question: Do you guys think having this will legitimately improve your gaming experience? Or is it just kinda one of those fun, collector's type things to remember a cool game by?

If its the former, I may get it. The latter, forget it

It's handy to have all the maps printed out for collectables, armors and guns. That's the main thing. You don't really need it for missions. Missions explain themselves and you can best look up alternate strategies in videoguides on the internet or GTA wikia.

Thanks for the reply, ya that's kinda what I was thinking. Guess I'll make a game-time decision when I go to pick up my special edition on the 17th

(and how awesome is it that after all this waiting, we can finally just say "the 17th", since its out the next time its the 17th of the month. After all this time, it almost seems surreal its this close. These last 4 weeks are gonna be tough..)

That's basically what I was thinking. Might as well complete the collection.

R* is also a developer that delivers, so I have no problem with sending them more of my money.

I'm getting the LE Strategy Guide PURELY for the collectibility. I probably won't read it through until i've beaten the game 5 times. I'll obviously look at the artwork though.

Just like you can with all of the stuff included in the guide. It's merely a collectable since the internet will give us every bit of information we'd ever want to know about V.

It's a hassle to print all that sh*t out.

Well, I don't jerk off to GTA information either. LMAO

Say you have to find 150 pigeons, are you going to look after every single pigeon? That's a hassle. Loooking things up can be a hassle. The maps are just very handy.

I'll play the game by myself but if I do get really stuck at something then I might have a quick look to see what the guide has to say on the matter. It'll be quicker than loading up my laptop and searching the internet. I don't have a smartphone and my internet is slow so reading a book is the better option for me.

I will definitely be using the guide because I'm going to try get 100%. I've never 100% a game before but I want to do it for GTA. Other than that I just want the book for the novelty and the cool artwork.

Well, I only found out about the ability to slit throats in RDR A YEAR after finishing the game, I don't want the same thing to happen with GTAV.

I have this pre-ordered along with the CE. Thanks to this thread I just remembered my old card expired! Just updated the details on Amazon before I forgot. That would have ruined my life if I was waiting by the door on the 17th and it never came :'(

I´ve never used a guide to complete the game or to find hidden packages, just for collectors purposes/ curiosity's sake. Brady guides are usually great, I already pre ordered a collector edition; 30 euro. YOLO

For anyone in the UK who hasn't yet pre ordered. Amazon.co.uk has just reduced the prices!

Limited Edition Hardcover was £16.46 and is now reduced to £13.39 (saving £3.06)
Standard Edition Paperback was £14.99 and is now reduced to £10.34 (saving £4.65)

They will most likely raise the prices again so pre order now if you plan to!

Yeah, I know but I don't buy from them. Some people like myself will prefer Amazon so I'm just letting people know.

I have also asked Amazon to price match Play.com's price.

I think embossed is the word he's looking for.

Even if the cover was flat it would have a texture but if it's embossed it has a raised texture.

I preordered this with the standard edition from GameStop. I'll be picking it up at the midnight release. (:

It looks so nice and sleek.

What do you guys think, is this worth buying? I'm currently at a dilemma... Because I know that pretty much everything will be listed on the Internet a couple days after release, but then again the actual guide is more convenient...

What shall I do? confused.gif

Heads up, the guide now only costs £8.54 on Amazon (non limited edition mind).
