If R* decided that GTA V ended the series as a whole, and added a couple of more DLC to it (Maybe new cities, whatever you can imagine), would you be satisfied?

With the new consoles and amount of data games will be able to hold, I would like to see what they can do to the GTA universe.
it could be much bigger-

Yea I guess ill be satisfied because most likely they're making a PS4 version and a bunch of DLCs which will last us another good 4-5 years. I don't think they might make any more huge gta games but they MIGHT release a GTA 6 in VICE CITY for ps4 in like 4 years from now.

I have a feeling though that GTA V will be too good that it will be hard for other future games to beat it. And the PS4 will also get a GTA V so we cant talk about next gen graphics.

As someone who has worked in game development before, I can say with confidence that it will be hard to top what they achieved visually in this generation. They may have higher res textures and maybe even more detail geometry, but with the current implementation of hardware/software you will never see fully modeled building interiors for all structures, realtime global illumination etc. It just won't happen.

There will have to be major breakthroughs in the way we handle rasterized graphics before you see another major step like that. The next gen step for GTA and other games will be achieving what the PC has had for several years now, which is TRUE HD none of this 720p upscaled bullsh*t and also higher frame-rates. But even that looks impossible as current next gen games all target 1080p/30 fps. F*cking joke.

Eh. It'll depend if the gameplay "style" starts to feel stale. I'd bet on a 6 (or some other sequel) regardless. It's different than other game series since each game is basically independent of the others, instead of a continuing story. Although this doesn't guarantee longevity if the developers blow it (looking at you, Resident Evil). I don't want them to continue crapping out games just to keep it going. Also, I'll probably be like 30 by the next one and I don't know if I want to be one of those weird old guys who's better than teenagers at the game.

Yea, because ending a billion dollar franchises is a brilliant idea....I doubt that they will end this franchises in a very long time but we don't really have a reference to look at since video games have only been around for a few decades.

I would be happy only if they made tons of DLC for GTA V. I've heard people saying that R* might make Las Venturas and San Fierro as DLC for GTA V but you have to realize that that would mean basically making a whole other GTA within itself because of how realistic they'll want to make it plus it would take forever to make both of those cities in detail. So, since this probably isn't going to happen I am hoping that they will make GTA VI which would make sense to take place in Vice City (Miami).

Let's all buy 5 copies of GTAV and all the DLC and all the T-shirts, to make sure this doesn't happen. colgate.gif

GTA is the numero uno flagship franchise of R*. So, one can assume that GTA will last as long as R* does.

I would like to see the Houser's dream of a GTA game with every city in it. Once that comes out (2025?) I'll be 100% satisfied and I wont need to buy a GTA game again.

Also I would like to see Rockstar end GTA, rather than them running it into the ground.

I would like to see what they could do with GTA on next gen consoles, but if I had to I'm pretty sure I'd be satisfied with GTA V being the last GTA I ever need to play.

Uhh, of course not. As we have seen, Rockstar is one of the most innovative AAA developers out there, and this being the last GTA would be wasted potential. This will however keep me busy until next gen GTA comes out. I can't wait to see what Rockstar will bring to next gen.

It's just the beginning man, so much more can be done with PS4, we'll be blown away by GTA 6 i reckon. V looks like it almost has it all though. Tbh i'm looking forward to Red Dead 3 a little more than V, but it's gonna rule anyway.

No, not really. I think this kind of game is only now coming into it's own. They can still do a hell of lot more with it. But that could also be a game that's not called Grand Theft Auto. I'm not that stuck to the name and confident it'll be replaced with something great as well. It may be a good thing to avoid other Rockstar titles being overshadowed by it. To be honest, those other IPs is what I hope they focus on first.

I hope there will be a next gen GTA VI though, to close it off. A GTA that utilizes next gen to the max will be f*cking incredible. But I kind of feel sorry for the folks that'll have to make all of it.. haha

As long as it continues to be successful, it'll keep going. It may even last as long as some Nintendo franchises out there.

The good times have just begun, the ball had started rolling with GTA IV and now R* will steam roll through the industry and teach it a valuable lesson smile.gif

Sometime after the release of GTA SA, A Rockstar spokesmen stated that sometime in the future when Computers are strong enough, they want to make a GTA with each City in the series. So its possible that we will get a GTA with all the cities from the HD Era

If it was an amazing story and had a good closure then maybe. But I wanna see what city is next and what they can do on next gen and PC in the future.
