Seems like GTA IV would be the obvious choice, but it wasn't the case for me. IV has a wide, relatively obscure selection of songs with the ability to look them up on Zit. Yet, I didn't find as many songs I enjoyed outside the genres I normally listen to. For example, I don't listen to country, but I really liked most of the songs on K-Rose. What do you think, and do you want to see GTA V go more mainstream with its music selection?

Difficult one between VC and SA but I went for SA. I discovered a good bit of New Wave and synth-pop from VC but SA introduced me to Gangsta Rap, Classic Hip-Hop and Funk & Soul as well as some new Country and Rock stuff!

It was tough picking between Vice City and it's good old nostalgia in Pop, Classic 80s hip hop and more and San Andreas with Classic early 90s Gangsta Rap from the West Coast, Classic Rap from Playback FM, New Jack Swing, and Alternative Rock, but I voted for San Andreas, seeing as you can't vote for two.

Vice City. So many good songs that I hadn't heard before.

For me it was GTA VC by a large margin. When GTA VC was released i was 11/12 and i knew of some 80's songs however GTA VC made me realise just how many great songs that the 80's produced and it made me wish that i was born before 1989 as it made you feel like you wanted to be in the 80's era and experience it for yourself.

Definately has to be San Andreas for me. While I think Vice City had the best soundtrack, I already knew most of those songs, so I never really discovered them though that game. However San Andreas' music was most of the time new to me. I had already heard some songs, mostly from K-DST, & a couple of RLS or Playback FM, most of the time it was new to me & I really enjoyed them, even music genres I'm not into much I loved because of that game.

VC, VCS, SA, then GTA IV. In that order.

San Andreas properly introduced me to 90s music (Radio X), and I've been hooked ever since! biggrin.gif

San Andreas had the best music, but i already knew a lot of the songs, so the best at finding new songs is vice city.

Vice City by far (Espantoso, V Rock, Flash FM and Wave 103 were breathtaking)
IV has a really weird OST, the weakest for sure with Chinatown Wars.
San Andreas I liked K Rose, Radio X and a bit K DST, the other station were crap for me.
GTA 3 and LCS have extremely good songs even if some station are just waste of space disk (such as MSX). Head Radio and Flashback FM in both : icon14.gif
VCS was great, not as great as VC but great anyway

well it depends. do you count the songs from EFLC too for GTA IV? because I liked those songs way better than the original GTA IV songs.

but I still choose GTA SA. Better Golden Oldies you know smile.gif

Null vote, since VC, SA and IV all had great music.

They're also the only GTA games I've played, and EFLC tounge.gif

I realize you can play EFLC without buying GTA IV, but I'd count the expansions with GTA IV since they generally added to IV's stations if you owned IV. Point taken though. I bought the expansions separately when they came out, and missed out on the exclusive stations only available in EFLC. I bet I would have found a lot in VCFM.

Vice City for me. I used to think the 80's was one of the most disgusting decades, but once I played Vice City, my mind was changed. It's now become one of my favorite and for some reason, the musical styles from then almost bring a tear to my eye. I love the reverbated snare drum sound so much, and of course, the synths!

I feel like the minority saying this, but I was really disappointed with San Andreas music wise. I'm not a huge fan of Hip Hop, but I do like East Coast stuff from the late 80's/early 90's, which I think it lacked. I also hated K-DST for two reasons, Axl Rose, and they only played cliche classic rock songs. Now, I understand it did a fantastic job at acting like a real Classic Rock station, which is exactly how they are, but they could have played some really obscure cool songs, like Prog Rock stuff or something. I doubt it'd be that hard to get licenses for obscure songs.

Also, wasn't a big fan of the GenX. Another cliche 90's Alt Rock song selection. SONIC YOUTH PLEASE!

Anybody else love K-Rose though? I hate country, but I think I actually just hate new country. Hahaha.

Anyway, I hope Axl Rose dies.

Have a great day!

Vice City by far. The one GTA that got me interested in 80s music: Toto, Lionel Richie, Hall & Oates, Laura Branigan, Michael Jackson, Jan Hammer and so on. The oldies are truly the greatest.

San Andreas had the greatest variety in my opinion.
