Hello, someone knows why Rockstar skipped Vice City and went on Los Santos? They broke the order of cities - Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas area. Why?

Probably because there never really was some magical order for cities to be used in GTA-games. Fans just made it up.

since when was there an order? GTA 1 went Liberty City, San Andreas, Vice City. They're not missing anything out.

@Frantz: GTA 1, Vice City, and VCS?

R* never stated that the locations in their games were going to be in that order.

They most likely used los santos because san andreas had the most success.

Vice City was in GTA. Los Santos was not - San Andreas, a GTA version of San Francisco was. I think thats what hes referring to.

And OP, there going back to original order.

Vice City/State is nailed on to be next, anyway.

There is no set order. Rockstar just do whatever they feel like doing next.

Last time it was New York/Liberty City because they felt they didn't do it justice in GTA:III.

This time it's Los Angeles/Los Santos probably because it's the U.S.'s next most iconic city after N.Y.

GTA 1 actually had an order of Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City, though San Andreas was simply just a city based on San Francisco (e.g San Fierro) rather than a state of three cities. Hopefully they'll do a spin-off game in Vice City on the PS Vita or something.

I never understood why they skipped Vice City though, but I'm hoping it's next in GTA VI or whatever they want to call it

There's no way vice city won't feel like a step back after San Andreas.

They won't make it as small as GTA VC's maps. R* will revisit VC sooner or later and when they do it will be awesome. If anything, GTA V is a step back because it's missing two thirds of the state San Andreas.

Thanks, yeah I didnt remember that GTA1 had Vice City last. I really hope next GTA will be Vice City, because that was my favorite one. I think there will be some reference to VC in GTA5 since Michael and Trevor were part of a Vice City crime family ( 90% sure).

The overall map is still bigger though, and it probably would have taken the game alot longer if they were to include LV and SF.

Sure if it was nothing more than SA's map with SF and LV lopped off, but it's bigger and more geographically accurate. Pretty much like GTA IV's LC was a leap in everyway compared to GTA III's.

Vice City remake could be in development, I think R* just went to Los Santos because GTA San Andreas sold more than Vice City. Vice City has VCS anyway. Although I doubt we will ever see Liberty City again for a good 10 years.
