So I was looking through my old SA strategy guide and while looking through it I found this ad for one of the in game companies.

Which states "Gangsta since 2002"

Before you guys start yelling at me I know SA was set in 92'.

I just found it odd that the ad from the strategy guide said 2002.

Is it possible that GTA SA was originally going to be based after the events in III?

I don't know it just got me thinking. turn.gif

It can't be before GTA III, becuase Salvatore and Catalina are alive in San Andreas. This is just easter egg.

You mean after, don't you?

After all, Rockstar also makes mistakes. GTA San Andreas' LC map is based on GTA3's LC for example. It should have been based on Liberty City Stories' map, a game which wasn't released then.

an easter egg? for what? something that never happened? and I know it couldn't take place after III. I just think its odd that it says 2002. what could it possibly been there for?

Remember, you have to not only look at when the game takes place, but when they were released-ie. III was released in 2001 for PS2/2002 for PC/X-Box and VC in 2002 for PS2/2003 for PC and X-Box, SA was released in 2004 for PS2/2005 for PC and X-box, and then you have LCS in 2006 for PSP/PS2 and 2007 for VCS on PSP/PS2...So, that could be in reference to the release dates for the games? confused.gif

The people who made the guide probably made that ad.

Was it bradygames?

It was bradygames but all the other ad's are from the game why would one be random?

'Mistakes/Errors" in publications like the Brady Guides may be intentional.
Even typos are now common in all sorts of books.
The Idea being that if someone reproduces the same 'error' in their work it will show a copyright infringement.
Thus, making the law suit easier to prove.
