I've never attempted, I've always looked their locations in websites, but in GTA V I will! I guess it's very hard!

Well, not all of them, sometimes I go around seeing if there is likely to be one say in an alley but then I just leave it

And also, I don't need a map for GTA III packages, I found most of them myself, there were a few I needed a guide for but the rest I found just roaming around

I've found every single hidden package in Vice City without map. I did it so many times that I know them by memory, I don't need any map.

0909090 really?? How hard was that? I guess I would take years to find them all by myself!

I don't know if it's me or the videogames design but I always find it so easy to find collectibles/hidden packages in games. I mean for example in Saints Row 3 you'd have the whole city of buildings and houses, every building you could enter would be a shop/safehouse so when you see a building with a door open that's not on the minimap, it's clear that it's a collectible location. In general anything that looks out of place would have a collectible in it. But because more thought goes into GTA Vs design I'm guessing the collectibles will be in random alleyways and cool places like the top of Mount Chiliad and an underwater cave somewhere.

Yeah, I've always attempted it in the III era without maps, but never fully succeeded. GTA SA drove me mad.

The only GTA game where I can get all the hidden packages without a map is III. For all the others I need a map.

I haven't even bothered in collecting them, in any GTA, unless they were right next to me and I had the mood to take them...

Well, yes. I didn't have access to internet at that time so that was my only option. However, it has its bright side, I got to known map very well, after all I guess that's what developers really wanted.

Sometimes I use guides. Not all the time, though. I actually prefer to find everything by myself. It makes me feel more accomplished once I'm done.

I use the online map to find hidden packages and other collectables. Don't have the time to find them on my own. turn.gif

I think my sig pretty much answers your question.

If I wasn't trying to 100% I wouldn't even have attempted getting the birds in the HD era the rewards are pretty bad in comparison to the III Era

I could NEVER do it without a map or tutorial, never. It's bad enough I only got 99 out of 100 hidden packages in GTA III while I followed a tutorial video. I eventually found it in the end though.

I was able to find 40 hidden packages and 60% of the collectibles in SA. Not more. I used a map to find more packages until I got a minigun spawn; and all of the collectibles in SA to see what they would do. The hardest part in finding the items was to remember if I have already been to a particular location in this playthrough. I know where many of the packages are, but its so disappointing to find a series of empty locations.

I wonder if there are any guides sold for money, and the authors intention was to facilitate the sales of these derived products.

From III to Vice City I never used a map, but once San Andreas came along I had to use a guide, then again in IV but I did get close to half of them without looking them up.

For V I will honestly try to do it without a map, that way the game would last longer for me and I can just walk around the map taking my time with it.

I tried it in GTA III but I would collect a package and forget to save so it would mess me up. it's easier just to use a guide. It's hard enough finding them that way. It's a real pain in the ass.

The hidden packages, were the one of most annoying things in GTA games, in my option. I only completed graffits in SA and packages in VC.

I've done it in Chinatown Wars so far, but that was the first game I tried. Used guides online for every other game.

Sometimes, I purposely DON'T PICK ANY UP when i see them in a new GTA. That way, when I do go to use a guide, its not as confusing.

It was just to tedious for me,especially 200 pigeons. But 100 tags in Los Santos was much funnier, find half of them just doing gang wars. Still, impossible for me with out map.

no man. at least not all by myself. I went for some on my own. and in VC it wasn't a big deal. but all pigeons in GTA 4 is just close to impossible. I mean, to find them all by yourself.

however bro, i took the guide and wiped all pigeons out.

I've been trying to find all the hidden packages in GTA III on my own. Some I know by heart, others were me either wandering around or actually looking closely everywhere I go, and very few did I actually use the guide. I'm at 32 packages right now.

In Vice City, I used a guide but I think it's possible to find them by yourself. With San Andreas, there's no way I can find them myself! And then GTA V...oh boy, that'll be a nice challenge.

I've only gotten all the flying rats in TBOGT. I haven't bothered with anything else.

Yes I didn't want to but I had to really when I was new to GTA. Back when I started playing Vice City at the age of eight I didn't have access to the internet and I managed to find 70 hidden packages all by myself.

Of course years later I saw some of the packages I left out were at places I couldn't have even imagined but if my cousin didn't have to re-install windows on my old PC I would have found all of them in time. Back then we didn't know where the saves were located so a backup of the save wasn't made.
