Some of my friends are saying that BBC just picked up a random old guy from the side of the road. mercie_blink.gif

I can't wait to see this guy, I also don't know who he is.

Peter Capaldi is a phenomenal actor - definitely not some random guy!

He's a well known BBC actor, best heard of as the foul-mouthed Malcolm Tucker on 'The Thick of It'. Capaldi is absolutely hilarious on the show, which is why the announcement of him becoming the 12th Doctor has been met with such praise here in the UK. smile.gif

And he's from Glasgow. That just seals it for me.

That's amazing! Four Doctors in a year, all played by amazing actors.

Nah, I don't want to spoil myself by seeing him as anything else than the doctor.

Go to 2:13 for a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I lost interest but I think i'll start watching again. I don't think the American people on here will quite know how big the show has been or even know what it is but I cant wait for the 50th special.

Edit: And Peter is from Glesga!! biggrin.gif

It's actually pretty big here, now. They've even started airing the episodes on the same day as they do in the UK, because people were complaining that it was hard to remain spoiler free for that long.

It's not close to as big as it could be if it were on network TV, but BBC America is basic cable, so less people get it.
