I'm getting this message everytime I post. When I refresh my post is there and it's so quick it can't be a real timeout. Coupled with the flood control it's pretty damn annoying.

Woah! Dude. There's no reason to post three times in a row. Just use the 'Edit' button.

I'm sure the Admins are aware of this and they'll get it fixed soon like they always do. Flood Control is only enabled to slow down spammers and you only have to wait one minute after you post so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Oh and, if you get that message after posting, just hit the 'back' button on your browser and post again. Because the post data isn't lost. icon14.gif

Also, this problem is big in the IV and SA sections as well...I know it's not the flood control because it happened on my first post of the day and I don't post back to back to begin with, so for me, that should not be an issue...It is aggravating, cause when you have to reload to get the forums back up, it erases everything you just typed, so you have to re-type everything over again. It also happens when you first go to gtaforums.com in the browser-BEFORE you click on any sections/topics...

It is not an internet issue, as I am not using a wireless connection-ie. my desktop is connected directly to the internet box via ethernet cord..This is with Firefox (latest version, I think?) and with IE 10 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

I've been getting this a good bit as well. Just hit back and then the forward arrow (and confirm you want to resend the data) and you won't lose anything like shoumic said. I'm using Chrome and it works fine, dunno how it'll work in IE though.

The same happens to me, and it has most probably something to do with the server. I'm getting this message almost every time I make a post; especially then when I want either to post it, or just preview the post. I think there isn't much we can do other than hoping that the forum update will happen sometime in the near future.

We're aware of the issue.

One of hamsters that power the server likely escaped and chewed through a network cable. Admins will hopefully have the issue resolved soon.

Happens for Personal Messages too so it's a pain in the ass when I'm trying to spam talk to a friend.

I thought I was the only one having this problem yesterday. Everything is back to normal now, though. icon14.gif

Yes. Logging in was an issue, along with posting. It took 4 tries.

right.

That's the kind of response I give my clients when I have no I idea what's going on too. I can't get that silly about it though. Anyway, the issue is still there.. I made the multiple post to test (add reply/fast reply), it didn't happen in this forum for me.

And I just find the flood control really annoying, okay.. I understand why it's there, and I can live with it.. it's just goddamn annoying like fat people blocking an escalator. Just sayin moto_whistle.gif

Anyway... hope you get it resolved soon.

Just to update, the 'fast reply' seems to be a lot worse than the 'add reply' for me. I'm not sure if other people feel the same way.

I've noticed this too. It's only happened 2 or 3 times for me on ADD REPLY but has happened probably more than 30 on FAST REPLY.

I think the cause is spam caused in part by the ranking system.

You know guy's pressing "F5" then "Continue" (if you get the form resubmission message) brings back exactly what you were doing beforehand.

Doing this generally works for me unless it is a Personal Message, in that case it will just take me back to the board Index.

Best to copy and paste your text before you submit, folks. Looks as though this is happening all over for different functions (posts and PMs) but I'm sure Tank will look into it icon14.gif

Doesn't need a copy, as you can refresh the page when it appears.

For the last three days I've been getting 522 time outs about every other time I move between the forums, and sometimes just moving to topics.

New Forum or those 'V'ers  overloading the servers?
