We are a Xbox 360 roleplaying community playing GTAIV (will be playing GTAV soon), RDR, and Minecraft. Some of our members also are on SAMP servers.

We are looking to bring in some new people as we prepare for GTAV. Here you can find some information about us, and when we will be having recruiting events. Please privately message me or reply directly in here if you have any questions.

In order to attend our events, you must reply to this thread with a complete interest application. This will tell us a bit about you as a person and as a roleplayer. If we are interested in having you in our event, we will send you a private message giving you more details.

The event will be a roleplay involving at least one staff member and new potential members. It will be a roleplay that will test all of our candidates on how they roleplay. Rules will be enforced in this game, but we will not have you make a character and keep records. There will be players in the LCPD and general citizens. If you are a general citizen, you can choose what path they will go down (criminal, business owner, bum, etc.) You will have $1,500 which you can spend on whatever you please.

As far as drugs, weapons, vehicles, etc. will go, players may decide to become drug dealers and what not. We do have definitive prices on vehicles and weapons, but in the interest of having a realistic scenario, people can make up their own selling prices. Please review all of the rules before the game begins, such as random deathmatching, new life rule, etc.

Following the game, you are welcome to fully apply to the community. That application will be more detailed. From there, you would be accepted and become a member of our community.

Please in this thread find some of our rules, pricing examples, and upcoming recruiting event. Again, the application is at the end of this thread. Thank you for your interest in American Dream Gaming, and we hope to see you soon!

Events
Recruiting event GTAIV Thursday August 1st, 8pm ET

Rules
Please see the specific rules for each different type of game that we have. The rules will vary per game such as Grand Theft Auto, Read Dead Redemption, etc. Here are some rules that will apply to all games:

Modding: Our community openly supports modding; we believe gamers should be allowed to mod their consoles freely. We will accept modders into the community but we have a strict set of rules that anyone (even admins!) with mods must follow. Modding, essentially, gives you the power of god. We put a great deal of trust into anyone who has mods and we hope they use them responsibly.

General Modding rules:
You cannot use mods:
-To get yourself out of trouble. This means that you can't use speed mods or teleportation to evade police and/or other players in the event it may affect the outcome of the roleplay.
-To kill other players
-To make yourself invincible
-To make yourself invisible
-To heal yourself

You can use mods:
-To spawn cars for yourself or other players(as long as they own that car or have a roleplay reason to have it!)
-To change your character skin accordingly
-To teleport (But only at the start of the game!)

Random Death Matching - You cannot just walk around killing other players with no purpose.
Example: You walk into a Burger Shot, pull out your pistol and kill another player. THIS CANNOT BE DONE unless you have a valid roleplay reason.

Fear Factor - If someone pulls a weapon out on you, you aren't allowed to bring out a weapon of your own unless they say so. You must obey rule-compliant instructions given by this person.
Example: Swag points a gun at you and tells you to sit down. You must restrain from pulling out a gun and follow his instructions to sit down.

Metagaming - Using Out Of Character knowledge to further your roleplay character's experience.
Example: You read on the forum that a player you are trying to kill lives in Niko's Alderney house. You MAY NOT go to the house in Alderney to kill him unless someone tells you this information in-game.

New Life Rule - When you are killed you have no knowledge as to where you were upon death, who killed you, why they killed you, and how they killed you unless you are informed by the person who killed you. You remember everything else.
Example: Officer Mike shoots Dillon in a setup drug deal. Dillon cannot go to the Officer Mike and express anger or revenge kill because he has no memory that the Officer Mike did anything to him.

Revenging Killing - If you are sent to the hospital by another player, you may not find them and kill them in response to your previous death.
Example: Swag kills you with a roleplay purpose. When you get out of the hospital you drive to his location and shoot him. This CANNOT be done as you lost your memory.

Asspulling - You cannot pull a two-handed weapon out of thin air. If you want to use an AK-47 in a firefight, you must exit a vehicle or retrieve it from a location and continue to hold it until you store it again. Two-handed guns may be stored in cars or houses if you wish to not hold it anymore. This doesn't apply to one handed weapons.
Example: Mike gets a tipoff that police will be raiding his home. He sees them while he is standing in the middle of the street and switches to his AK. This isn't allowed unless he runs to a car that he stored it in to retrieve it.

Car Killing - Your car is not a weapon under any circumstance. It is not to be used in a fight to injure an enemy, nor run over random civilians. The only way this can be used is if your enemy places themselves in front of your car while you are attempting to get away.
Example: Mike sees a rival gang member while he is driving in his Sultan. He excels the vehicle forward and kills his rival by running him over. This ISN'T ALLOWED because he injured the rival via car ramming.

Item Use - Don't use what you don't have. You can't use a shotgun/vest/drug...etc. if you don't actually own it.
Example: Mike sells Dillon some weed but Mike never purchased or planted any weed to sell. This CANNOT be done because Mike never had weed in the first place.

Player Killing/Executing - You MUST have a legitimate reason for a player kill/execution. A grudge or annoyance is not enough to take away all of the effort that someone put into their characters' lives and business. This reason must be stated to an administrator and verified by them. If this rule is broken your character can be terminated from the game. However you are allowed to act under the heat of the moment. If a situation arises where you are put in a position to kill someone whom previously did you wrong you can override the Execution rule because a turn of event led you to a perfect roleplay moment. This means that you can only commit the player kill/execution if the person presents themselves to you and not if you went looking for them; if you are seen going out of your way to force interaction with someone you are trying to heat of the moment kill than you will be punished.
Example with pre-meditation: You are gang member. Officer Mike keeps harassing you and assaults you on numerous occasions. You talk to an admin and state that you wish to player kill/execute him. They approve and you wait one full roleplay to player kill/execute Officer Mike. This is allowed because you asked an administrator and waited a full roleplayer.
Example without pre-meditation: You are a gang member. A rival gang member has put a price on your head and attacked you earlier in the game. You find him completely by himself wandering around on a rode. You capture him and bring him to a secure location than execute him. This is allowed because you had roleplay reason for the kill and the circumstances put you in a position to roleplay out a proper situation.

Capturing - If you wish to capture a player you must either get them with Fear Factor, knock them out, or shoot them to death (not execution just death). They will be in your custody unless you are also killed/captured by someone else in the situation. If you are captured via killing you must go back to the location of your capture and do whatever you captors tell you.
Example: Swag and Dillon are fighting the police. As they depart from the battle Swag is killed by a cop. Swag must return to his death location and do as the police say because he is now in there custody.

New Member Criminal Rule - This rule is fairly simple. If you have just been accepted as a member into the month you must wait one month after the date of your acceptance to make a criminal character. This is because being a criminal in the roleplays is one of the most challenging roles. You must have the experience of being a normal civilian under your belt to make a successful criminal. If you are a gifted roleplayer the Admin Team will approach you and make an exception.

Play Your Role - You must abide by the rules of your chosen characters lifestyle. This means that if you are a civilian, you will not be participating in large scale drug trafficking, firefights with the cops, or robbing other players. If you do murder someone, it must be with roleplay purposes (they robbed you/threatened your life...etc.). Do as a real life equivalent of your character would do in everyday life.

Rules specific to GTAIV

Start of the Game - Players begin the game with $1500 that can be used to purchase whatever they wish and give them a jump-start to success.

Death (Police Disregard This) - If you are killed by another player (non-execution) you must act out the death as an injury depending on where and how you were injured. You must return to the location of your injury after you respawn and act out everything accordingly such as going to the hospital.

Housing and Businesses - Players are often interested in buying property to live in or work out of. In order to do this, they must search through the property list (http://americandream...e-property-list), and then apply for purchase of that property on the banking page (http://americandream...purchase-form#5) with the information of what property they want. If you wish to start a business such as a cab service, head shop or anything else you need a building to operate out of. Only one house may be purchased per player, but any amount of people may stay in an already purchased home if the owner gives them permission whether for rent or free. The only way to collect revenue from a business is to have someone working at it for a daily shift or a steady A.I. worker that is paid just as a regular worker would. If you are a business owner you may work at a maximum of two of your businesses yourself, but you will need to hire additional workers if you wish to collect revenue for 3 or more businesses. The bank cannot be scammed IC by an OOC loophole. You can try and not pay your loan IC and risk being arrested but any blatant scamming of the system such as willing the money or giving it to a friend...etc. will result in OOC action.

Play Your Role - You must abide by the rules of your chosen characters lifestyle. If you do murder someone, it must be with roleplay purposes (they were holding you hostage and an opportunity for escape presented itself, you went crazy when you saw them because they tried to kill you previously). Purchasing a Weapon - Weapons may be purchased legally from the gun dealer or they can be purchased illegally from the black market (gangs). A gun purchased from the dealer will give the customer a license which allows them to keep the gun if they are arrested for a non-gun related crime. If they have a gun without a license it will be taken no matter what from police during any arrest and the player will receive a fine and jail time. The gun dealer may only sell non-automatic weapons including the knife, pistol(s), shotgun(s), and sniper. Any automatic weapon is considered illegal if used by a non-police officer and can only be purchased via the black market. You may not sell "single-fire" automatic weapons because that will get abused.

Black Market Importation
In order to get weapons you must first contact an admin to get approval and if you are allowed you must take a boat trip for two in-game days (48 minutes) and roleplay out meeting a "connect". After that you may pick up any realistic amount of drugs and up to 4 total weapons of any variation. You must pay a price per weapon and contact an admin with which weapons your picking up so we can check your money to make sure it is legitimate.

Prices to pick up:

Glock: $1,000
Desert Eagle: $2,800
Mini Uzi: $3,500
Pump Action: $5,000
870-Combat Shotgun: $6,000
SMG: $7,000
AK-47: $9,000
AR: $10,000
Sniper Rifle: $12,000
Combat Knife: $25
BP Vest: $1,000

Per gram of Cocaine: $40
Per pill of Ecstacy/MDMA...etc: $5
Per gram of Heroine: $50
Per gram of weed: $25


Knockout - If two players are in a fistfight and one of the players beats the other to a very low health they "knock them out". The player with the lower health must have his character be unconscious. He does not hear anything that the other players are saying and must do anything that they say.

Facial Reconstruction - If you wish to change the physical appearance of your character for whatever reason you have the option of facial reconstruction. It will be an advanced procedure that will take up to a day to complete. The recovery period will take the rest of the roleplay. A person can only change to a face of the SAME race. It will cost $3000, which you can take a loan for.

Vehicles - Players will automatically be provided with a Standard Drivers License that allows them to drive cars, buses, trucks...etc, however they must purchase additional licenses if they wish to operate vehicles such as Motorcycles, Boats, and Helicopters. Players may drive illegally, but if they are caught by police they will pay a heavy fine and do an extended jail sentence.

State Owned - If a property is owned by the state, it is temporarily owned by the host just as a means for players to get jobs. State owned properties CAN BE PURCHASED.

Gangs - Gangs may be established in-game if players meet together and wish to form a criminal empire. The roleplay will be limited to three gangs with a maximum of 4 players per gang, and if you wish to create a gang you must fill out an application in the gang page. Only 2 gangs will be allowed in each role play unless stated otherwise by the hoster, with a maximum of 3 players per gang on a first come first served basis. Gangs are required to make a post on the website with information about themselves including a ranking system, member list, owned property list, and history if they get their application accepted. Do not create a gang post if your gang hasn't been validated.

Drugs - Drugs are to be sold by a dealer in-game whether it be a lone criminal, or a gang outfit. Drugs may be imported from ship, grown, or purchased from a doctor and/or other dealers. Suggested prices are posted below, but you do not have to follow them. As a drug dealer you may purchase the required items to grow and/or make a drug from the general store. You must designate the location of your grow op to a staff member before you start to grow/make your product. The prices for items will be listed on the general store post. The only items that dealers can grow are meth and weed. Any other drug must be imported or purchased from a doctor.

Importation:
If you are a criminal you have the option to import drugs through vehicular transport. This option has the most customization. You will make a legitimate system for importing your drugs and ask a staff member about it. If they OK it then you are set to go. One of the main options is to manually boat the drugs to the city. This will be done by driving your boat to the corner of the map on the ocean and stay there for two in game days. Once the two days are up you may bring back the drugs that you have imported to Liberty City. You may import any drug besides Marijuana or Meth.

Growing/Making
These two options pertain to growing Marijuana and making Meth. What are unique about these two drugs is that they can be done by civilians as well.

Growing Marijuana
Marijuana seeds can only be purchased online at $50 per seed. The top amount of seeds you can order at one time is 4. The order takes one roleplay to reach Liberty City. To plant the seeds you must have the following from the General Store: Soil, Fertilizer, The Seed, and a pot(if grown indoors). Every seed needs its own pot, unless grown outside. Each marijuana plant can produce 3 ounces every roleplay, which can be harvested accordingly. If the plants are left alone for three roleplays they will wither away and die. If trimmed and kept up then the seeds will regrow. Civilians can only own up to two plants at a time.

Making Meth
Meth can be made by gang members and citizens alike. The materials you need for meth are a Chem Kit, Cold Medicine, Drain Cleaner, and a Bowl. All of these can be purchased at the General Store. To make the meth you must be in a kitchen or lab that either you or a friend owns. There are two types of Chemistry Kits. One is the Basic Chemistry Kit and it produces two grams of meth each roleplay for four roleplays. The other is the Advanced Chemistry Kit and it produces four grams of meth each roleplay and can be used forever.

Purchase from Doctor or Dealer
To purchase prescription drugs like Xanax, Vicodin, or Adderall you may find a doctor. A doctor can choose to illegally prescribe you these drugs which can be resold or abused. You can also resell drugs from dealers who get it from the source. The choice is yours.

Here are some other suggested prices for drugs:
Cocaine:
1g Coke = $60
8ball Coke = $150
1oz Coke = $1000
1k Coke = $30000

Pills:
100mg Ecstasy = $5 per
30mg Oxy = $20

Heroin:
1g/bundle of Heroine = $150
.25mg of Heroine = $50

Meth:
1g Meth = $40
8ball Meth = $100
1oz Meth = $700
1k Meth = $21000

Weed:
1g Weed = $15
1oz Weed = $150
1lb Weed = $2000

The effects of these drugs can be determined by the user themselves however for those lacking drug knowledge here are some common side effects that can influence the players actions.
Marijuana Effects: Hunger, Enthusiasm, Spacey
Meth Effects: Euphoria, Numbness
Cocaine Effects: Overly Happy, Jittery, Excited
Heroin Effects: Drowsy, Euphoria, Hallucinations
Ecstasy: Exhiliration, Intense Euphoria, Intense Hallucinations
Oxycotin: Euphoria, Out of Body, Peaceful


Working - Players may work in up to two jobs per day, as long as they have different shifts for each job, but keep it realistic; A player who is a doctor isn't going to have a second shift as a fast-food cashier.

Job List:
This list shows some jobs player may have. These jobs are not the only jobs players may have, just a helpful listing of potential jobs to get careers started. We use a Tier system where jobs will be ranked into tiers which dictates starting money and salary. While players may switch jobs it will be easy to tell if they try and cheat the system by starting as a doctor and switching to a crack dealer just to get the high starting money. If you start off as one Tier and switch to another on the same character you do not get the additional starting money, only a different salary.

Tier 0 Jobs: $2,000 start and $0 salary weekly.
Criminal: Criminals start with no salary since it isn't an actual job and the lowest starting cash considering criminals generally come from poverty. Criminals make money through illegal activities such as robbery, kidnapping, trafficking, extortion...etc. This requires an extremely good roleplayer because of the lawlessness of their role.

Tier 1 Jobs: $8,000 start and $750 salary weekly.
Cashier: Works at desk and counter jobs such as fast food, restaurant, and sales clerk. Must work at least 6 hour shifts.

Laborer: Works at outside jobs such as Cargo Ships, Docks, Cargo Transportation. Must work at least 6 hour shifts.

Street Vendor: Works at booths found all around the city or on the boardwalk selling misc. goods. Must work at least 6 hour shifts.

Public Tansportation: Works driving taxi's, boats, or buses and taking people from Point A to Point B. Must work at least 6 hour shifts.

Tier 2 Jobs: $15,000 start and $1,500 salary weekly.
Bodyguard: A bodyguard works for a company or person, and their job is to guard a building or characters safety with their life. They may help important people avoid injury or death, chauffeur around the famous, guard prisoners, or stand watch at a business.

Bar/Restaurant Owner: Businesses CANNOT collect revenue if players aren't working in their stores, but a businessman may run two of his stores by himself. Makes additional revenue by purchasing business and collecting revenue from them.

EMT/Fire Department: Works closely with the police to help maintain order in the city. Deals with injuries, vehicle accidents, and anything else requested by police.

Legal Gun Dealer: All legitimate gun purchases are made through the gun dealer, and any gun purchased from them will reward the customer with a license for that gun. This means that if they own a license for a gun, it cannot be seized by police if the player is arrested for a non-gun related charge. Gun dealers make 20% of each sale made to keep for themselves.

General Merchandise Store Owner/Business Owner: Works in the general store or their own store that sells any general mechandise including clothes, furniture, consumables and much more. If working in their own non-general store they make 50% of profit off sales. Also could be owner of a business not specified by any other tier such as Funeral Home, Shipping Co, Fishery...etc.

Mechanic: Mechanics work on fixing up damaged vehicles, upgrading and painting vehicles, and doing any additional needed modifications. Mods are generally needed to make this an enjoyable job.

Tier 3: $30,000 start and $2,500 salary weekly.
Car Dealer: Sells cars from the vehicles from the dealership. Responsible for giving test rides and insurance on vehicles. Mods are generally needed to make this an enjoyable job.

Club Owner: Works at a night club which provides entertainment, dancing, and alcohol to it's patrons.

Police: Work to keep order in the city. This job starts in Tier 3 but rank increases may effect your salary. Works to keep criminal activity at a low and keep civilian in line by following laws. More information can be found below and in the police forum.

Tier 4: $50,000 start and $3,500 salary weekly.
Laywer: Works at providing a defense for possible criminals or prosecuting possible criminals. Can charge any additional chosen price to customer based on the case they are defending them in.

Doctor: Works at a hospital providing care for the sick and injured players in our games. They can diagnose people and give players the option of healing.


Police- Will receive salaries based on rank if they are promoted, and if they aren't they start in Tier 3. They get $50 per successful arrest or ticketing. A list of tickets and jail sentencing can be found in the police forum. The job of a police officer is to make sure all laws and rules of the roleplay are upheld. This requires extreme patience and a level of roleplay that rivals any other job in-game. Police must use necessary force when responding to any situation and be careful with how they deal with crimes. All real life crimes are to be enforced such as evading arrest, assault, possession...etc. Police will be forced to check licenses via the forums when people are arrested, transport suspects to jail, and have a deep understanding of laws. If a criminal wishes for a court case, they will be sent to the North Holland P.D., where they may post bail. Time served at NH P.D. Players may not escape from jail.

A.I. Roleplay -
We understand that sometimes relying on roleplay solely with other players can end up getting boring or uninteresting. This is why we are allowing all members to have roleplay transactions with A.I. Although you are allowed to get these items/money every game that doesn't mean you have to. Even if you are allowed to get $3000 per game that doesn't mean you have to make all of it: one game you could make all $3000 and the next you could only make $200...etc. If we see someone being unrealistic in dealing with the A.I. for items of value then we will remove their eligibility.

Money
Admins are exempt from restrictions.
Members may gain up to a maximum of $3000.
Weapons
Mmbers may gain up to 3 melee weapons per game.
Members may gain 1 glock per game. No other weapons can be taken.
Members may gain 1 weapon other than a glock once per character. This excludes sniper rifles and explosive based weapons.
They can either pay for the weapons from an AI dealer or steal them.
Drugs
Members may gain up to a half pound or 8 ounces of weed per game.
Members may gain up to an ounce, or 28.5 grams of cocaine per game.
Members may gain up to 50 pills per game.
Members may gain up to 4 grams of Heroine per game.
Members may gain up to 2 ounces, or 57 grams of Meth per game.

While you can just roleplay robbing for the money/drugs/weapons you can also actually deduct money and give it to an imaginary A.I. dealer. You can also perform services for the money such as stealing a car and giving it to a chop-shop, killing another contract A.I...etc.

This is a great chance for some of our better roleplayers who go out of their way to roleplay with the A.I. to be on par with other members in the monetary value department. This list can and will be edited when we see members are either not fit for the privilege anymore. You will be notified if your A.I Roleplaying abilities are revoked. Non-Staff members are required to include what they gained through A.I. dealings that game each time they send an update for their character information.
