So I did something a little crazy. I walked around Liberty City. The Whole Map.
I started in Beachgate in Broker and well this map will tell you the rest. It took me 2 hours 4 minutes and 15 seconds.
REAL-TIME.

I'm crazy lolll panic.gif

Notes: (More info down about 16-17 posts)
I did this in The Ballad of Gay Tony
NO running, Walked
There were 2 spots where I stopped the timer to swim across the river
then started it again once I got back over.
Yes I also realize there are a few spots I didn't
stick directly to the coast but still...

I also tediously made sure that the route I drew up on the map
is 100% the route I actually took.

Man, why the hell would you waste that much prescious life? (I'm kidding). I'm curious as to how long that time stacks up against San Andreas, though. I used to walk around alot in VCS.

Semi-related, I hope that V's large map allows us to walk the borders of it, I mean no large mountains on the coast iimpeding our route.

lol, I knew it was going to take a loooong time. I just always wanted to do it. And I wonder too
how it stacks up against San Andreas. I'd definitely say real close to 3 hours + a lil more.

And lol ohh man just the thought of walking V's map makes me dizzy. tounge.gif

It's too bad there won't be any endless mountains or deserts, that would make that same trip agonizingly long. And I can't help but feel like it would be pretty difficult in SA because of the insane drivers. Trying to walk those highways, you're bound to get mowed down or blown to pieces when somebody starts a pileup and cars start to catch fire. Now IV, on the other hand, had soft drivers. The only time they drove rough was on the bridges.

How did you walk the airport without being shot to pieces?

I wondered this also.....

Anyway i saw you said that you were going to do the same in GTA V when it is released and seeing as it took you 2+ hours in GTA IV, in GTA V it will probably take you 3+ / 4+ hours in GTA V if all the reports of the size of the map are correct, so all i can say to you is good luck with that my friend. It seems a liitle pointless to me but if you feel the need to do it id rather you than me.

Or he could just used cheats. tounge.gif But I think he did it in mulitplayer too, or just erased his wanted level with cheat.

I'm not sure if cheats really help. The only cheat I recognize that did something against wanted stars didn't really help, because the wanted level would be back instantly again as you're still near the airport.

Maybe he kept pressing the remove wanted level cheat button while walking around the airport.

Ah the airport! Can't believe I didn't add that detail in my post guys! Some good guesses
up there of how I got past airport security lol.

Ok here's the rundown:

-I played TBOGT on PS3, I *Started in Single Player, more on that in a bit.

My main mission was to reach the abandoned casino in Alderney. As you can see on the
map the 48:37 mark is where I initially was going to stop my adventure.

Then I figured ahh what the heck I made it this far might as well go all the way.
So when I finally got to the airport I totally forgot about the wanted level. 6 or 7 FBI and SWAT vehicles started rushing
towards me and then I had my "Ohh yeah, That" moment. I stopped at the 1:37:17 mark, I remembered the exact location I stopped at next to the runway.

Then I went into Multiplayer (Which I probably should have just started from in the first place if I had
remembered about the wanted level at the airport haha) and went to the same exact spot and
started the timer again. I made sure to walk at the slowest speed possible. After I got out of the airport
I stopped the timer, went near a lamp post then went back into Single player and started again at the exact spot. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

I probably made it a tad more complicated than it had to be but oh well. biggrin.gif

One awesome random event happened while walking on the west end of Alderney.
I witnessed a carjacking for the first time in GTA IV. wow.gif
Guy came up to the passenger side of a vehicle at a stop light and threw the guy out
and drove off.

Wish I had recording equipment. confused.gif

@ SARDYNA108

That's neat. I think I remember seeing that actually. I'm proud of my route though.
I like to think I'm the only one to do it the way I did. tounge.gif

@ Hameer

If I didn't stop it and went straight through about 2 and a half game days would have
passed by since we know GTA IV has 48 minute ingame days.

Walking the map is awesome but I prefer cruising. Here is my map:

Thanks man. It really is worth it if you have the time. You see the city from a whole different
perspective. I got to witness a carjacking in Alderney, multiple car crashes over the city and
just amazing ambiance from surrounding city elements.

Heard Pedestrian conversations I never heard before too.

The video on the first page really shows how large the city is.

Anyone complaining about LS's size needs to go for a long walk around LC I think. Games like Skyrim feel so much larger cause you're forced to walk to nearly every location making you absorb more of the detail.

With GTA you can jump in a car and pass hours worth of finely tuned details within the matter of seconds.

I'll definitely go for a walk around San Andreas without the minimap when I first get it, tis will be a memorable walk.

It really is true. There are a lot of details to be missed unless you slow down and appreciate
everything.

I recommend more people take 2 hour GTA walks like me begin at your own risk tounge.gif

That's why I look forward to the bikes in GTA V, because I'm too lazy to walk, but if I take a car it will go too fast and I won't notice all the details.

I've walked the whole oblivion, skyrim, fallout 3/nv and red dead redemption maps. I've pedal around the whole San Andreas map before, but never jogged LC. I've walked Algonquin, but rest of the city is kind of dull.
