We don't really need them, we have cars, planes, boats and other things.

It wouldn't harm us if we could ride horses now would it? Plus the countryside and wildlife is kind of based on RDR so it would make sense. If we can ride bicycles and quadbikes, why not horses in the countryside? Imagine the fun. People online riding horses on the highway biggrin.gif

But horses are awesome for the desert area.

I have been wondering this too. They have already ported over several objects from RDR. If they ported over horses from RDR, it would probably take a few weeks of work to make it function properly in the new updated environment. I'll be looking for it in the game.

For transportation, they worked in RDR because of its time period. Times have changed, believe it or not. For random animals appearing in-game, sure why not.

I think the collision physics of the horse you're riding against a car/vehicle would be a real pain in the ass for Rockstar. I don't think they will be in the game.

I think the Horse is pretty much confirmed, with Rural areas being the game.

And why not put it? It's amazing in RDR and would be even better in GTA V.

Peace

Good point, but we've all seen what happens when you put a horse in front of a train

Police on horses out in Blane County would be awesome! I think Rockstar is too proud of RDR to not have horses in GTAV.

i think it's 50/50. really have no clue on this one. on the one hand they pretty much nailed it in RDR and it's not like they'd be starting from scratch, plus there are perfect locations for them and it would be fun as sh*t. on the other hand you make a good point about the collision physics. with so much other sh*t going on in this game it's one of those "possible" features that i could see going either way.

Neigh, I don't want horses!

just kidding! I hope we get horses. If Rockstar doesn't let us ride a horse through Los Santos while RPGing peds then I will be very disappointed.

I'm iffy on the subject of horses, I mean they were awsome in RDR, but the controls were a pain in the ass.

Imagine the multiplayer fun you could have. You and your buddies having a horse race down the wrong side of a busy freeway, dodging oncoming traffic and seeing who can survive the longest biggrin.gif

They will have had to work on this for non rideable animals anyway, unless they just slide around/explode like they did in RDR, but I don't think that would cut it for the bigger range of vehicle speeds in GTA. I don't see why they can't improve on it but it would take some work, like adding 'getting up' animations for each animal.

As every RDR cryptozoologist knows, animals are just humans in disguise.

If I remember correctly, then the Japanese magazine mentioned Trevor spending time in the stable. If they have a stable, then I assume they might have horses also.

Let's just tally some things up right quick shall we? We already confirmed through that Japanese magazine that there's 15 different species of animals in the game. I'm not sure if this includes dogs like Chop or not, if it does that just obliterated this list because we don't know how many different breeds of dogs you can own IF you can even do that. But for the sake of hunting and wild animals, let's exclude Chop etc.

1: Sharks
2: Eels
3: Fish
4: Deer
5: Bobcats
6: Cougars
7: Wolves
8: Bears
9: Birds
10: Coyotes

That's already more than half the list of total animals in the game, and we don't even know if dogs are confirmed to add towards that 15 animals number or not. Will there be horse betting? Maybe. Will there be wild horses or horse stables where you can physically mount and ride a horse? I am going to say flat out no. I'm going to tell myself there's 0% chance for there to be horses in GTA 5 so when Sept 17th comes around and I see in my guide there is nothing whatsoever having to do with horses, I can sleep easy. But if on page 57 omg what's this THERE'S RIDEABLE HORSES IN GAME!? OMG! Well then obviously it will feel great to be excited and surprised with delight.

Moral of the story: expect nothing, receive everything.

Well if the game is realistic, there needs to be horses.

If we sell the meat to the Burgershot, we also need horse meat. rolleyes.gif
