I am sorry if it has already been discussed but i really want to know why the hood of the vehicles in Blaine County appears to be slightly open.
This can be seen on pick-up tucks and cops cars.

I noticed this too in Trevor's trailer. Maybe a bug who knows.

It's a bug. A really bad bug, too.

I doubt it's a bug. I believe it's randomly-generated damage since Blaine County's inhabitants appear rather poor.

if youre referring to trailer 2 then that video was released almost a year ago (wow nervous.gif )

the bug is most likely fixed by now

Hm thats interesting!

If they didnt catch that, expect an update upon installation... which should set us back another several minutes when we first get the game.

I never noticed this in Trevor's trailer but I did in the gameplay video and thought it was because the cops are in a chase and probably crashed somewhere

It's not a bug. In real life, out in the desert, people have to pop their hoods to keep their engines from overheating. Rockstar decided to include that little detail in-game.

I made a post about this on Reddit (in the GTA V subreddit), but nobody seemed to care.

I even had pictures of all these examples.

I really hope this gets noticed and fixed. If not, R* had better release a patch.

This might be the most reasonable comment in this thread lol

It's not a bug, it's a real life solution to overheating engines in desert areas, I live in Phoenix and I am quite used to popping the hood on very hot days.

Well, that would be very realistic and reasonable. monocle.gif

Yeah, I'm not convinced that the hood is popped for hot weather.

I think you all just jumped on board with that idea to have some kind of answer.

Well who gives a sh*t anyway except for nitpicking morons ? If that little thing bothers you then you have some major problems unrelated to the game.

What if it is true, and heat plays a role in the way engines work? And upgrading things like intercoolers and rads actually improves this?

No need to be rude. I'm not nitpicking. I'm simply curious about the popped hoods and it seems very possible that it could be a bug.

I've always loved GTA (probably more than the average person) and I trust R*, but if this makes it into the final build of the game, yes, it will probably annoy me.

That doesn't make me a moron.

Please help us all and cut your hands off so you don't have to post anymore!!! lol.gif I mean god...

It's simple. You bump into something and the hood pops up. It happened in IV. In the scene with the trucks that was obviously a bug because all of the windows appear to be gone too. As for the other scenes, the cars are damaged. I mean how are you going to post a scene of a cop car that obviously hit someone and then ask why the hood is popped? That's just dumb.

If this is a bug, it is probably fixed by now. But if it makes the game then it will be very frustrating.

Just seems like body damage to me, probably nothing to worry about. And if you have to pop your hood to keep your engine from overheating then you need to repair your vehicle. Even in Phoenix where I too reside.

I've lived in and around the desert almost my whole life and have no idea what you're talking about. Not saying you're WRONG but I've never seen it. I think there's a better chance of it beig a bug... Sure rock star could've added slight body damage to the vehicles for realism, but why would all of the hoods be slightly opened? Why not a missing hub cap and cracked windshield? This thread just made my brain hurt...

open hood because of the weather is stupid.

I'm a auto mechanic. and by the way. It's very dangeraous to drive with open hood on highspeed like the cop cars because of the apparent wind.
