[SA] Adding Entry to american.gxt

Can somebody explain to me, how I can add an entry to the american.gxt the right way? So not only editing/changing an existing entry, that I know myself how to do.

I know these programs:
- GXT Editor 1.3 by Hammer83
- SA GXT Editor by Jernej
- A-GXT Editor by Aschratt

First one is the known standard.

I don't see a possibility to add an entry. Only changing exisitng ones.


Than there is the tool by Jernej.

The problem here are the orange entries, the IDs. How can I identify them?

And last but not least A-GXT by Aschratt.

What is very nice that you can add new entries, only here I have 2 other problems. Firstly, again the IDs (CRC32), the corresponding values ​​with which I can not do anything yet, and I also can not edit them in A-GXT (I can only edit "name" and "text"). On the other hand seems to be the "Name" column bugged. When you first open the american.gxt I had there still individual names (as you would expect) but after test adding entries (e.g. with name "A") A-GXT shows me now always the new name last used on each line / in each entry (so here A), even if I restart the program. This is therefore a problem because I want to search for entries in another american.gxt (which will then be added to the second one), and finding the desired entries - only with text entries but without the associated name entries - is pretty hard.


I hope somebody can help me there. Maybe I don't see the obvious solution, I don't know. Thanks anyway! smile.gif

The first screenshot isn't from Hammer's GXT Editor, it's from some other editor I also have, no idea who's the author. In Hammer's one it's as easy as selecting Entry -> Add.

Save this american.ini in directory where american.gxt is.
This file contains hashes assigned to known GXT names.

Oh, you are totally right! I had the editor shown in the first picture a long time on my harddisk (it seems that the Author of that editor is "Zverik aka Ilya Zverev", Link) and "only" searched for the corresponding download link .. and "the real" editor by Hammer kinda looked alike, so I didn't downloaded it 'once again' to verify. Anyway, now the real Hammer Editor looks like this:

Okay, with the Editor by Hammer I was able to add my 4 entries to the american.gxt, working fine.

Is there a way to shorten the black box, so that it matches with the text?



And some further questions not related to this topic (-->SCM), but still I'm wondering about them currently, would be great if someone could answer to that aswell.

1. ) Regarding the scmlog.log file of CLEO. Example:

 get numeric params: 1
   param 1 = 10


0001 is the OpCode, but what does the number 00197029 means? Or more general, what does these whole numbers in that slot mean (so the numbers before the : ) Also:
