QUOTE
George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle, police said today.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of Dana and Mark Gerstle and their two children, who were trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla. at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route Route 46, police said. The crash site is less than a mile from where Zimmerman shot Martin.

By the time police arrived, two people - including Zimmerman - had already helped the family get out of the overturned car, the sheriff's office said. No one was reported to be injured.

Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash and left after speaking with the deputy, police said.

It's the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his controversial acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.

Man, this is insane. Here's a link to the article if you don't believe me.

If I were to reach 10,000 posts within a couple of days, there would be something wrong with me.

I honestly checked your profile before clicking the actual thread just to see if this was another milestone topic.

But wow. lol I'm not sure what else to say. Way to go Zimmerman? Yeah.

Just heard about it. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I find this a bit hard to believe. It just happens to be a coincidence? I never said he couldn't do good. I am saying it seems odd that not to long after a lot of people were angry with him about something he just seems to be at the right place at the right time to become a hero now. Also, apparently he just so happened to have a convenient fire extinguisher with him at the time.

Whether he did or didn't do something horrible before doesn't mean he can't do good now. I'm at least glad that he's not spending the rest of his life hiding, like people said he was going to do last year. smile.gif

I don't remember if I read it here, but he was also thinking about a career in law (don't worry, not as an officer tounge2.gif ).

It's almost like he's a normal person and everyone who talks about the Trayvon Martin case (both sides are f*cking stupid) are riding an ignorant hype wave instead of paying attention to the fact that the jury that acquitted him had more information to go on than them.

I mean, man, a normal person, how weird, it's like he had parents and can think for himself.

I'm surprised he didn't shoot the car in self defense.

Gained a bit of respect for him, but he's still an idiot who made a huge mistake.

Still doesn't change the fact that he killed a 17 year old, and that he molested his 6 yr old relative.

You forgot to stress UNARMED, six foot three inch, 17 years old child with no previous history of mischief other than authority issues, mary-jane use, and petty theft.

He probably some how caused the accident so he could become a hero.

That's coming from the Conspiracy Theorist in me.,

So what? I don't get hype around Zimmerman, really. A jury found him not guilty and think it's time we all move on. I mean it's good that he saved a family but if he wasn't George Zimmerman, do you really think we'd be hearing about this? Probably not.

Nah, nah, nah. To be a hero, you should come up all dressed in a shiny gimp suit with your undies worn over your pants/tights. You should also come up with a bridle, a medium sized satsuma, a mallet, and stern woman who demands you call her Nanny Whiplash. And then, you should do some APEsh*t crazy thing/stuff just like that shemale called Superman used to do in Man of Steel.

Now that's what a real hero would do/look like. Feel me?

I'm pretty sure Zimmerman didn't check any of these boxes.

This is pretty cool I guess. I was kind of undecided as to what I thought about Zimmerman due to the Australian media's lack of interest in the actual trial, however the event itself was covered for some reason. confused.gif

But yeah this is good, if he's been let out free of charge then saving people's lives is definitely a good start to getting people to have a glimmer of respect for you again. smile.gif

Forgive him for defending his only life? Yeah, how dare he protect himself, it's a disgrace!

OT: Like it or hate it, this is pretty heroic.

Most intelligent/experienced motorists keep a fire extinguisher, jack, and set of tools in their car. It's not really surprising.

They probably would have gotten out of the car with or without Zimmerman there, hardly "heroic".

Not at all relevant to this story, though. If Hitler donates 5 million dollars to charity, that's still a good deed.
