I choose the Beauty Bubble every time. Life would be so much simpler.

Both are easily within reach.

If I had to choose, probably the former. Intelligence is a commodity infinitely more precious in the world, and to our perceptions of it, than attractiveness.

If you're ugly there is always plastic surgery, if you're dumb there are always reality shows.

A lot of you guys who are choosing intelligence need to realize that if you chose ignorant beauty, you wouldn't really be aware of your lack of intelligence. It's win-win. Like the biblical story of Adam and Eve. Everything was great until they got wise, then it all went to sh*t.

Luckily I'm sexy enough already, and I don't need any more intelligentness coz being stupid is much more fun and unpredictable. cool.gif

I'd rather be attractive. I've lived all my life not wanting to look in the mirror, I'd love a change.

Is this even a question? Any sane human being - who has average to above average IQ - will pick the intelligence option up. Beauty only takes you as far as being a model.

QUOTE (Voodoo @ Monday, Jul 22 2013, 18:05)
Pretty and dumb are by far the easiest way to go through life. You get things handed to you and you don't have a care other than your own little world. Intelligence brings awareness, the realization of futility and ultimately depression or madness. I think ignorance probably is bliss.

I couldn't disagree more. It makes absolutely zero (in numbers: 0) sense.

How could anyone who claims to be intelligent not realize that "ultimately depression or madness" are things that are to be avoided? And can be, easily, if I may add that? And not by "just smiling" all the time. I mean by rational thought. I'm not saying you should lie to yourself, that's not rational. But if you actually feel bad like that you might want to take a little time to think about whether or not that makes any sense in the first place, or if you're just downing yourself for no reason. Trust me, you won't regret it if you're capable of actual rational thought and not just claiming to be.

Of course ignorance is bliss. No discussion there.

But claiming that everyone with an IQ above <insert whatever number you think sounds smart> is doomed to live a life of depression or madness..... yeeeeeeaah no. Sorry.

Depression and madness are only stones you have to step over on the way to <insert whatever state of mind you consider a significant improvement, I like "enlightenment" but "bliss" also works here (!)>.

Ignorance is a form of bliss but bliss can not only be achieved by ignorance.

On topic: the former, because it automatically includes the benefits of the latter for reasons so diverse that anyone with an IQ above <insert whatever number you think sounds smart> must be able to come up with some on their own tounge.gif

GTA-King: Yeah because gold diggers are usually dumb tounge.gif Matter of definition I guess.

I don't remember making that claim. Maybe re-read my post. Awareness is a burden, that's all.

I would rather be intelligent. I will never be "pretty" in the sense of what is paraded on television or in fashion magazines or in films.

What would I gain by being super attractive? More sex? I don't give a sh*t. A career in Hollywood? I'm not really into acting. Being attractive doesn't 100% guarantee you a job in all fields.

I would much rather be intelligent, because intelligent people are usually successful and wind up making a lot of money, and, well... you know how it is. Money = girls.

Bill Gates is quite the ladies man.

...and being intelligent does? It's little unclear what was OP wanted to ask. Do we have to choose between intelligence and extreme ugliness vs. attractivness and extreme stupidity. Or if we choose to be intelligent can we still have average looks, and vice verse? biggrin.gif

There's a saying, 'ugliness is superior to beauty because it lasts longer'.

I would rather have intelligence because as I am i can't tolerate dumb people. The people I consider friends are all interesting, funny, witty, intelligent people. The ones I always dismiss are the vacuous people with a bland imagination and no depth.

f*ck being ugly, I couldn't live with myself, imagine talking to people knowing they only see some ugly f*cker, I don't give a sh*t how rich I get with my brains, i'm only going to get gold diggers after my money.

I would be Super attractive and dumb 7 days of the week. Stupid people are usually happier as well, less to think about, less to worry about, hell, some crack addicts I've known are stupid as f*ck but they're happy.

My sentiments exactly. Spot on.

I did an I.Q test when I was a teen as I was suffering from mental illness and depression. I can't remember the number but the letter from the doctor said I was at the high end of average which suits me. In the looks department, I'd rank myself the same.

QUOTE (Voodoo @ Monday, Jul 22 2013, 21:43)
Most people consider themselves to be intelligent whether they are or not and most intelligent people take great pride in it when they are young. It takes some time living in the real world as an adult to realize that it doesn't get you as far as you thought it would.

Pretty people don't even have to waste a thought on any of this.

Intelligence is not one of those things that can easily be quantified. Getting somewhere isn't the only advantage of intelligence. Another even greater advantage (in my opinion) is that you can cope with things better because you understand why they happen.

You don't have to do it either. Most of the things people think about are pointless.

QUOTE (El_Diablo @ Wednesday, Jul 24 2013, 12:46)

Except that it does sometimes. I've met or known quite a few intelligent but arrogant people that hated life (I was one of them as well) because they were aware of what it really is like, and some of them were depressed as a result of that.
