We understand there has been an arrest outside the Lindo wing, with a man put in a police van just a few minutes ago. Details to follow.

Security is extremely tight outside the hospital where Kate is in labour.

Crowds are being urged to take their photos of the press pack and hospital front door then move on quickly.

I'm not out partying or waving a flag for this event, but I think it's something that most of the nation enjoy following because of the buzz it creates around the world and something as simple and every day as a couple getting married and having a baby spreads positivity and allows people to feel they are showing just a little bit of patriotism.

Like them or not, the monarchy pull in a lot of good tourism for this country, and if it's a distraction from the sh*tty moves the government make that are putting real people through hard times then so be it, because we're much much better off with them than without them when it comes to boosting our income and image.

Would you rather hear about Kim Kardashian and her 72 day marriage and then her baby called North West? I know what I'd rather fill the newspapers for the next month or so.

I get why people like celebrities, movies shape our perspective on life, but this is what I cannot wrap my head around. An outdated monarchy with a massive cult following. I couldn't even find a f*ck to give.

This. I just dont get it.

oh my goodness!
how wonderful!

another spoiled whore (or whorette) to stand around and look pretty while sucking up the good life like a sponge served on a silver platter.
oh thank the lucky stars for tourism revenue! oh joyous day, oh glorious occasion.

Well to be fair, it's not as if the kid has chosen that for themselves.

Look at Prince Harry. Active member of the armed services and an all-round decent guy--it's not as if he likes the fact that he has to pander to the public during his free time due to his "royal" status.

I don't like that the Duke and Duchess are having their privacy intruded upon, but if people are into royal matters it's their business. Personally I'd rather the whole thing just be private until the announcement of the sex and name of the baby.

...or black. Should make for an interesting discussion.

Nice job stealing from comedians and posting it online almost word for word without bothering to even say the name of the comedian from whom you stole.

Thanks, always here to help

I'm indifferent to the Monarchy, but seeing as hating them so much is the hip thing, I actually appreciate them more, Prince Charlies is a great custodian, and has done a lot for this country, and not made a song and dance about it.

It's morally wrong and unjust that they are 'looked after' by us, but that's how it is, keeping somethings that date hundreds of years, might be a bit backward, but I think it's add something about this nation and it would be a shame to lose it, when we are losing so much about what it means to be 'british'. I'm far from patriotic, but I don't think this country needs to hang it's head in shame as much as it does or seems to.

Well, this one is more important than all the others, and this is a big event for all those people who like (the) royalty. It's not like it's a baby from Mrs. Howard from 36 Trumpet avenue, it's the Duchess of Cambridge - and the baby's the heir to the throne. So yes, some people are interested.

Also, ~360000 babies are born every day, just so you know.

Congratulations! Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif
But I do have a feeling that other babies will never have their own identity, because some parent will just copy exactly what the Royal family does, even down to the type clothes they buy, hair style, and brand of baby wipes!
Duke of Cambridge heads to local shop and picks up Pampers Baby Wipe. Moments later a stampede of newborn parents bought the same product. Mass shortage all across UK!
